Eagle Crest Resort - Ridge Course

About
Stretching across over 1,700 acres in Central Oregon, Eagle Crest Resort boasts two championship golf courses that enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine every year. The Ridge Course is the lengthier of the two layouts, known as a "driver's dream." The course features generous landing areas for golfers who like to hit the long ball. The greens have subtle breaks that will force you to think carefully about the approach shot. Although there are many memorable holes, the par-3 third stands out as the signature. This scenic and challenging hole plays from an elevated tee that offers views of the Cascades. Don't let the views distract too much though since there are out of bounds to the left and a water hazard. A precise shot is essential since the only bail out option is to lay up short of the green.

Nice track
Tee boxes beat up, recently aerated probably. Hitting fairways are key, due to all the small humps and hills that lead to sidehill/downhill/uphill lies. Boring back and forth front 9, back 9 a little more interesting. I walked the course, would recommend a cart due to long distance between holes.
all and all the course is in good shape
if it wasnt for golf now the course is to pricey to play on a regular basis, need more golf now t times per day especially on saturday
Fun resort course.
Good shape, found a good deal, good pace! I'll be back!
Great shape. Beautiful views.
The course was in excellent shape. We enjoyed the beautiful views.
Nice course, there are others in the area that are a better valve.
The Ridge course at Eagle Crest is a well maintained resort course with multiple tee boxes. During peek season to price to play here is a little steep. There are many options in the Redmond/Bend area. The greens are smooth and true, but tend to be on the slow side.
Good layout, but houses sit too close to many fairways.
An attractive and reasonably challenging course with good greens, well-maintained fairways and THICK rough. However, many tees didn't offer level lies and none of them had been mowed. My playing partner referred to the tees as "the second cut."
Course was in great shape
The course is in great shape for the early Spring. Greens were recently plugged and sanded (10 days ago) and were very playable
Very playable and enjoyable.
Recently plugged greens made this a challenge but course was in fine condition for early spring in Central Oregon. Had not played in five years and some vistas were improved, some waste areas have been eliminated and playability enhanced. We'll be going back more frequently.
It was a fun course to play. I would play it again. It is in a very scenic location.
The course was not too long and not too short. The greens were neither the toughest or easiest I have played. The greens had been aerated recently so I had to hit my putts a lot harder to get them to the pin than normal. Their aeration technique worked fine though because the ball didnt bounce around a lot. The sand in the traps is fairly fine. I was concerned at first that the wedge wouldnt cut through the sand well but I found the sand to play much better than I expected it to. Staff was professional. The starter was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The conditions overall were good and I had an enjoyable round of golf.
Great course, Staff was OK
The staff argued with another customer and I about the included range balls. It was not noted on our GN receipts. Finally a lady came up, said we were right. We got our range balls and a great round.
I enjoy the course every time I play.
This is a great course that is usually well maintained. The staff is friendly and the pros do a great job in teaching.
Great location
A beautiful day in November and the course was in pristine condition.
Generous Fairways and Greens
I find the Ridge Course to be incredibly fair. If you've brought a decent swing to the course, you will be handsomely rewarded. Fairways and greens are quite large so even little left or right "squirts" aren't overly penalized.
Greens were in good shape, but very slow on a warm day in November. Missed 3 putts due to shortness on the way to a 79 with three birdies (4, 10 and 12).
Beautiful views and a good amount of elevation change make the Ridge Course a much better track than the Resort Course. If you're in for a real challenge to your game, try the shorter Challenge Course. It is deceptively difficult and will eat your lunch unless you've brought a great swing.
This is a great course... but....
The Ridge Course at Eagle Crest Resort is a very nice course and a good challenge for the average golfer.
However, it's a pretty long course to not have water available at some of the tee boxes and, unless you walk a lot of the time, this one might be a cart course as there is a lot of elevation change. We walked the course on a 70+ degree day and at a pretty good pace (Tee off at 1:45 and finish at 5:25) and the lack of coolers to refill the water bottle was irritating.
In season (and probably on weekends) there is a beverage cart but apparently not on a Thursday afternoon in October. There are restrooms so refilling in the bathroom sink is an option.
Value is a pretty subjective criteria - the 'hot deal' we got was a great value; at normal rates it's a pretty average value. There are less expensive courses in the area that we enjoy playing at least as much as this one.
Excellent Course
Our initial look at this course suggested narrow fairways and overall a difficult play. However, we found it to be very playable for a mid-teens index golfer and novice spouse. The conditions were excellent, and everyone was very pleasant. A Great value for the money on this early fall afternoon.
Challenging, fair and fun
The Ridge course at Eagle Crest Resort is an under rated course. It has an excellent balance of level, uphill and downhill approach shots with no blind shots. The greens are well protected by bunkers and the ever present break away from Cline Butte which is to the South. This break is stronger on the back 9. The 12th having the most deceptive break. Nice.
Go play the Ridge course and have fun!
