Nestled among 12-million-year-old boulders in the scenic desert foothills near Scottsdale, Arizona, Boulders Golf Club & Resort is one of the country's most prestigious resort destinations. The North golf course at Boulders plays big brother to the South Course, and offers bentgrass and marvelous views of the Black Mountain, as the course winds through the community of Boulders. Both golf courses spring from the desert foothills and feature take-your-breath-away panoramic vistas -- among those of spectacular formations of boulders, stunning Sonora sunsets and indigenous terrain.

Disappointed with holes closed

I have played here around 6 times this summer, this the only disappointment. They are letting the course and green conditions go before overseed, and they closed holes 16 and 18, so we only played 16 holes. Golfnow sign up did not warn about closed holes or I may not have registered to play. Pro shop claimed GolfNow should have shown the closed hole situation - but didn’t.

Boulders AZ Golf Course

Excellent course. Every hole is photo for a post card. Tee boxes excellent condition as well fairways and green.

Cart person with drinks made it around several times especially during warmer weather.

I’d recommend anyone traveling to AZ Phoenix area to put this course on their agenda.

I like the course although they were going through renovations, it was still a pleasure to play, but $14.00 for a 16 oz. Coors Light????, without the tip.

Nice course but not for the price

I played Boulders in January at a price of $360. I walked away having a great experience but thinking "I'd never pay that again for this course." Then this month I played again for $79.

Two of the holes were closed which they didn't tell you until after you booked and it was below in the fine print. People generally don't read the full confirmation emails but I guess that could be my fault. There were also 3 or 4 holes where there was no sand in the bunker - just concrete. It was obvious they were redoing the bunkers.

Arguably my biggest issues were the greens. They were BEAT UP. I mean 3 of them they had new sod laid and it was the pace of the fairway. Just really unimpressed overall.

I'm in love with the big boulder scenery in Carefree but probably won't play there again.

Foreplay4life Review

2nd time playing at the Boulders, and we were very lucky to have weather in the 90’s instead of in the 110’s. Course was amazing except holes 10 and 11 were closed for Bunker maintenance, so we’re unable to get a full round in. Other than that, the facilities were amazing and the course in great shape. Highly recommend a stay and play at the Boulders.

Boulders golf course experience.

In my eyes probably one of the best courses to play in the valley.

Absolutely photo taking course in each hole. Tee boxes in excellent condition as well the fairways. The. Inkers we very playable and with the GPS in carts it made the round easier to manage.

I travel to valley regularly and always try and get a round in.

Good Golf

The course was a challenge but obtainable. We played with another couple who were very helpful. They played the course many times and showed us the way. The fairways were in pretty good condition, considering how hot it was. The greens were a little slow but I understand as it take water to green them up. Overall we really enjoyed the course and will return.

Played the course on 9/8/2022. There were two holes under repair, we were told there would be only one. The greens were in poor condition, as there was crabgrass on several of the putting surfaces.

Not bad for the money

I only have 4 of 5 stars due to the greens needing a little extra care. Quite a bumpy for my liking. I was not expecting perfect but I thought they would be a little Better. But other than that this course was well worth the price I paid. It was Monday (Labor Day) so pace of play was a little slow. I booked as a single got paired with another single and the 2-some that was supposed to be with us only wanted to play by themselves. We finished all 18 in 4hrs and 5 mins.

$14 beers!!!

The course was great… but $14 for a Coors light is absolutely ridiculous!!! When we said something to the pro shop about the ridiculous price gauging, the guy said “you don’t have to buy beers if you don’t like the price”. Really dude?? He was being a complete jerk. No where in this world has anyone charged $14 for a 16 oz Coors light.

Never golfing here again… or if I do, I’m loading my bag with my own beers and they can deal with it!
