The Dinosaur Mountain course at Gold Canyon Golf Resort is consistently rated among Arizona's top public courses. It offers a one-of-a-kind round in the Sonora. Panoramas feature at tee boxes. There's a test of skills, traveling upwards, downwards and all around Dinosaur Mountain, with tee-green elevations changing dramatically and fairways loping long.

While playing a round on the Dinosaur Mountain course at Gold Canyon Golf Resort, note the back-to-back signature holes, the fourth and fifth.

A round on the Dinosaur Mountain course at Gold Canyon Golf Resort kicks off on the 316-yard, par-4 first, which is tougher than it appears: The fairway heads uphill, narrows and leads to a well-guarded sloping green. The par-5, 514-yard third is one of three long holes; look out for the leftward dogleg, and then, go uphill to a diminutive multilevel green. Finish on the 366-yard, par-4 18th, which features fairway bunkers left and right to keep golfers from trying to wrap up too quickly.

great views and just an awesome place to golf

the views and surrounding homes make for a great way to enjoy a round of golf. the was in perfect condition, even with the work that was going on. from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated wonderfully. the only thing I can say was not perfect was the staff at the counter must not be morning people.

GC Resort

The Gold Canyon Sidewinder course was in great summer shape. The greens rolled well and the layout was moderate to difficult. Pace of play was great so we kept in rhythm. We finished our round in approximaely 3.5 hours. What makes the GC Resort stand out is the professionalism of the staff, and gorgeous views. Oh yeah, the course is kind of nice too, LOL. I would definitely recommend playing this course. Our group will be back.

Spectacular views.

Dinasour Mountain. Liked the course. Lots of elevation changes. Relatively short from the white tees so it's good for us short ball hitters. It's mid July so the course is stresssd right now, but that will end as the monsoons come in. Staff was friendly and helpful starting right with the bag drop staff.

Great Summer Value - Course in Great Summer condition

Played Sidewinder and it provided a good challenge. I played the white since I had never played it before but if you have average distance off the tee recommend backing up one tee box as several of the par 4's were too short. I actually scored worse because I got into trouble off the tee that wouldn't have experienced if had teed off from a tee further back.

Fun and easy to play

Sidewinder is a fun and easy to play 18 compared to the more challenging Dinosaur Mountain. It is a great warm up to the Dinosaur Mountain course. Excellent condition and less expensive than the other course. I recommend this for couples or players who want an enjoyable round to play.

The elevation changes and the views were spectacular.

The Dinosaur course was the best course i have played down here in the Valley. For a course in the summer the grass was everywhere green. The greens were true to putt on and several were double tiered, some were small and some were large. You will enjoy this course.

Great views, good condition but...

Signing a form just to drive the cart? Ranger coming by 4 times during our round. Allowing a 5-some to play in front of us because they "know people". Cart girl only came by twice. I will eventually go back because the course is very nice, played sidewinder, but not because of anything else.

Spectacular Views

Being a golfer from Phoenix I was very excited to finally get to play this course. From the first tee box to the last, the views of this course are out of this world. Everything was very enjoyable and the course has enough tee options to really challenge any level of player. The greens were much faster than I am used to but the greens held very well.

Play your way

Don't let the starter recommend your tee selection. We provided handicaps to the starter (after they asked) and they suggested we play further forward than we normally would. After two holes we moved back. The course played extremely short, even from the back tee locations.

Hidden Gem in Gold Canyon

Play a lot of golf in Arizona mostly Scottsdale area but the trip out to Gold Canyon is worth it for anyone in he area. There is a variety of tee combinations to make it challenging for any golfer and Dinasaur Mtn is in perfect condition. The views and beauty of the surrounding area along with a great course make it a must for anyone traveling to the Phoenix area. Truly the gem in Gold Canyon

One of my favorites..but

This course has all the breathtaking views anyone could ever want. It is a MUST if you love target desert golf in an absolutely beautiful setting. BUT, there's just a few things that have me scratching my head, so I cannot recommend this as a first class place to play. 1. You have to hit off cheap mats when you are warming up. 2. There is NO water on the course. If you are playing in the summer, make sure to bring lots of water. 3. There is an abandoned, boarded up house in between holes 9 and 10. Other than those things, this course in fantastic.

A Phoenix Phavorite

Loved this course - admittedly because of the view for the most part, but it was also well maintained and staffed by friendly staff.

I hope to be back!
