Wigwam Resort - Blue Course

About
The Wigwam Resort possesses three 18-hole courses, the Blue Course, the Red Course, and the Gold Course. All three courses were built on a rolling terrain with mature creeks sprinkled throughout and meandering creeks running through, which can all affect shots. The Blue Course is the shortest of the three courses but Blue plays long due to the elevated greens. The creeks create water hazards that come into play on several holes and there are also many strategically placed sand bunkers throughout the course as well. The Wigwam Resort facility has various practice facilities including a chipping area and putting green.

Strange Layout
This is a highly idiosyncratic course. To play the tips, which are only 6300, there are some rather hidden tee boxes and others that are downright dangerous, placed next to the preceding green: never seen anything like it! The layout has some very long par 3’s that are inappropriate for overall length of course and significant difference in overall yardage between the 9’s. It’s as if the whole resort didn’t have enough room for the Blue Course and it was shoehorned in.
Great course - slow play
Fun old school park style course in a neighborhood. A shorter course with wide forgiving fairways seems easy, but small elevated greens with good slope many guarded with tight deep bunkers mean you have to be in command of your irons or the bogeys will pile up. Grass everywhere looked nice and greens were great. My only gripe was smooth sailing until #11 where a group was waiting for the green to clear to tee off for maybe 10 minutes. After that we waited over 10-15 minutes each on #12, 13 14 - one of the groups ahead gave up and 2 of our foursome quit and left. We were probably on the 12 tee box for 20 minutes. Four groups on the hole. No good.
Blue Comes in Third
As far as the three Wigwam courses go, Blue is by far my least favorite. Small greens and rough fairways made the course less enjoyable to play than the other two courses. However, at 49 dollars it is still a deal and I would certainly recommend everyone to play it at this price.
Great first impression...
My son and I played the Blue course. This was our first visit to Wigwam. Course was in good condition for the time of year we are currently in. Most challenging part of the course would have to be the greens. Small hard greens with some very unforgiving pins. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back to play the other courses.
Not worth the money
No water jugs anywhere
They have water old
Fountains with hot water
Fairways dry and hard.
Solid Course
Signage to bag drop and clubhouse could be updated. The sign was faded and hard to see. Check in was simple and the staff were pleasant. The course had a “different” layout with 3- par 5’s and 3- par 3’s on the front 9. It is open and not much trouble but fun to play. I would recommend for beginners and seniors. I played in July so the fairways were burnt out which gave some really tough shots with wedges on tight lies. All in all it is a solid course and I'm sure would play better during winter.
Short but fun
The shortest course at Wigwam, but also only a par 70, so doesn’t really play that short. Plenty of challenge and a nice layout. Course was in good shape for the brutal summer heat. Greens show signs of recent aeration, but are healed up and rolled nicely. Pace was great.
