Coldwater Golf Club
About
Located in the West Valley, the championship-length course at the Coldwater Golf Club boasts several different challenges for an interesting round of golf. There are elevated tees as well as several dry washes. There are two lakes providing water hazards on the golf course as well. There are also dramatic elevation changes caused by the mountainous terrain. Aside from the challenging game, the course also offers beautiful mountain vistas. The course has not only one signature course but two. The first is the modest eighth hole. Although it is short at 100 yards, it features an elevated tee and a triple-tiered green. Coldwater Golf Club also finishes with a signature hole. The beginning tee shot plays to an open fairway over water with a dry wash to the left, while the approach shot is closed-in by another wash to the left and a lake to the right.

Still need a lot of work
Pros - Most fairway and greens are in good condition.
Cons- Tee boxes need A LOT of TLC. Not the courses fault but, if you are a 4 some that is playing slow, let the solo guy play through you… especially when he asks you if he can.
If you are looking for something on the cheaper end and don’t mind messed up boxes then this course is for you.
Big steps
I played here in the beginning of July. The improvements are very noticeable. Gas carts are brand new, comfortable, responsive and quiet (for gas). Gopher problem is under control. Greens are in good shape. Tee boxes are a little rough but manageable. Fairways are decent a. Looks maybe some new cart paths? Anyways, a great track with friendly staff and good pace of play are three things that are rarely found all together at the same place. I’ll definitely play here again this winter.
Best value in the valley
You won’t get this distance, layout, and condition this time of year for this price. Coldwater has best mid day/late afternoon prices.
The course is getting better
This course is a great value when the tee times and are fairly priced. The pace and play and management of tee times could be better. For any of those people complaining about tee boxes and green take their reviews with a grain of salt. The course is a work in progress but you can definitely tell they’re trying. If you’re used to playing at east side courses and north phoenix courses don’t expect the same amenities.
Coldwater
Coldwater has come a long way! They have new carts and the course looked a good shape compared to how it was. I think this new management is leading it in the right direction
Course Needs Help
First off the twosome scheduled behind our tee time was late (they we waiting for breakfast burritos)so the starter squeezed them into our tee time so we started off with a delay. Then same group was playing from the Blues and waited for the group head of them to clear the green before they even teed off. So needless to say the pace of play was horrible. The tee boxes were beat up and moved around from normal tee box positions. BUT, you get what you pay for.
Tried Yo Repeat My Hole In One
I’ve played Coldwater aboutv20 times in my life, and in February of 2025 I thought I had a hole in one on hole 16 playing 186 yards from the blue tee. I hit a 6 iron right at the pin and as we got to the green and couldn’t see any ball but when we walked onto the green we could see it 10 inches in front of the pin. So no hole in one but a tap in birdie. About 10 days later friends of mine and her brother Wayne booked a tee time at Coldwater. So on February 25 when we arrived at the 16th hole I told him (Wayne) that I was 10 inches away last time I played the hole and so I would hit it 10 inches harder than my previous round and get a hole in one. It was exactly 186 yards once again. I hit my tee shot and it went right at the pin. We get there and don’t see a ball, and I walk up into the green and don’t see a ball. I walked to the pin and yup my balls in the cup. The expression on my friend Wayne’s face was priceless. His brother in law happened to have some birdie juice in his golf bag so we had a shot to toast the hole in one. Now back in Arizona this past week I played Coldwater again and it was 159 yards so I hit an 8 iron right at the pin. When we got there I was 10 feet behind the pin. My putt broke at the hole and was 3 inches away. So 2 1 and 3 strokes equals 6 strokes in 3 rounds. I can enjoy that memory forever.

Decent course
Decent course. It busy in the afternoon with the twilight price.
Someone please help this golf course
I took a chance on this golf course because the last few ratings gave it decent marks. Well, I was wrong. The tee pads were terrible. Some of the tee markers were moved 50y ahead of the "scorecard yardage" and the pads were still crap. The greens were mostly bad and VERY SLOW. The fairways were less than average. The bunkers were terrible. Most of the Igloo water coolers were empty, and we teed off at 11:12! I think the family that owns this property thinks it's cool to own a golf course and they are bleeding every $1 out of it. The pads on the range were hard and old, and the range balls were garbage, and hadn't been washed since Covid! The really sad part is that the course layout is really good. Who cares if it is in a neighborhood, it's the Phoenix metro area. It's primarily a flat piece of property, but some effort has been made to make it interesting with undulations in the fairways and on the greens. Put some money back into this course and increase the fees by30%.
Birthday Golf outing
Coldwater is usually one of my favorite nearby courses to play. Unfortunately this outing the green’s & tee boxes needed some help.
Course was great. Golfnow double booked me as a single not easy to contact or resolve.
Not a good experience
Nothing good to say so I won’t say anything at all other then I would never return to this golf course.
Solid
Course plays long from the blue tees. I should have played the green. They had just reopened after overseeding and it was probably two weeks away from perfection. Greens were shaggy which I prefer slow greens but my group didn't. Many of the greens had two or three levels to them making it imperative to hit good approach shots.
Everything plays back towards the middle on the fairway which is super helpful. Overall for $59, it was well worth it. I would definitely play it again.
Nice Day to get out and play
Great weather! Plush fairways! decent greens and pace of play was wide open. Chewed up tees (meh) and a few rouge players popping up here a there made me think kids or workers were sneaking in a few holes. For the most part had a good time and the price I paid was terrific! Cart path only made me a little tired!
Fairway hitters only right now.
I played this course before the oversees and after. It’s a spillway course, and the fairways are surrounded by hills and creek ways.
The course is green, ready for winter. Layout is challenging. Accuracy is crucial, so if you are looking to challenge yourself, this is the place.
My major complaint would be with the rough. It needs a cut in more places, and weed treatment. It is penalty enough to miss the fairway on a layout like this, but most of the rough is just unhittable. It has to be cut shorter. So many times, my group made a good shot out of the rough that would normally go 150 yds, but because of the length of grass, it would only go 50.
Cut the rough down on a layout like this, or it’s just unplayable for high handicappers. I will not be back if these conditions remain.
