About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Good executive course to get some practice in. Fairways wide & flat, & in good condition. The greens are domed, fast, so staying on the green means you need to hit accurately. Pro shop was well stocked & had lots of ladies clothing!

Best course for the money
For your short game this is the best place to practice to try to make yourself better and the price you can’t beat

Very nice for winter time over seeding made the course a little bit wet. Weather was great and enjoyed the time out with family and friends
Lady at the Counter
The course was great, all staff was great EXCEPT FOR THE LADY AT THE FRONT COUNTER. It was a blonde haired lady who was extremely rude and condescending. As I was just trying to purchase 18 holes for me and my girlfriend she was more than rude with condescending comments and constantly glaring at us. It made for an uncomfortable round of golf as every time we would pass the club house she was standing outside of it giving nasty looks. I have read many reviews about the course and several of them have to do with this lady. As long as she continues to work there, we will not be golfing at Desert Sands.
Greens and fairways were in good condition. Greens are challenging. 3.25 hours for 18 with crowded tee times was a pleasant surprise.

Fairways are Perfect for beginners
Fairways are straight and good for beginners but the crowned greens are difficult. Staff very friendly.

My only big disappointment was I didn’t get my 20% discount offered when booking. I must have messed up but would like a refund!!! Rex P.
Most Unorganized Course
I have come across many unorganized courses but Desert Sands had really out done themselves when it comes to being unorganized and having unfair treatment. Me and my buddies went golfing for my birthday so we decided to go early and hit a few balls at the driving range while we wait for our carts. My buddies are new to sport so they kept asking questions to the worker in the shop, off the bat he was rude. Our tee time was at 1:51 and we didn't hit our first hole til 2:45. While waiting to hit our first hole they shove a random person in our party without asking or consenting to us. On top of that they made two carts that were behind us hit before us just because they could tell my buddies were beginners in the sport. Please take it from my experience, if your trying to bring friends or family to golf and have a good time, this is not the place. I would recommend Dobson Golf Ranch, overall great experience.
