About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Tee times
We always love playing this relaxed course. The staff is always friendly and if it’s not busy we can go out early. We had to play the back 9 twice due to working on the front 9.
Desert Sands
Decent course and length for the price. Once you’ve seen the first green you’ve seen them all. Not sure I’ve ever seen a course do that so was quite interesting.
Love this course
We use this course often as we are not regular golfers. This is good for getting your accuracy and control back without being threatening.
Ready for summer golf
Walked 18 holes this morning. Course was nice and green. Tee boxes are looking better with the greens very receptive to approach shots. Course is looking good and ready for some summer golf.

Grass was getting a little sparse. Price was good. Check in was very good.

This is a good course for working on the game. The course is pretty straight forward, but the greens all have some character. The practice facility is pretty nice.
Never playing again
I knew what I was getting into but it was even worse than I remembered. Every green is like a goofy golf volcano hole and every green was running at different speeds. Some grain was running uphill and some downhill. No consistency to anything on the course. Staff had no customer service skills borderline rude.

Challenging Greens
First time playing this course. Google MAPS didn't exactly get me there, but I did find.the clubhouse. Very friendly staff provided good directions. The course was undergoing several tee box reconstruction, but still in good shape. It's fairly open, with challenging greens (lots of elevation change and steep fall off if you putt past the hole. I found myself coming up short, feering my ball would end up in the first or second cut. I enjoyed playing the course and look forward to playing one the new tee boxes are completed.

Just terrible
Pace of play was terrible. Only gave me 1 cart ticket for 3 golfers. 10/18 holes the tee boxes was under construction. If you want to be yelled at by old people the whole time play here. Had a 5 some behind our group playing best ball and stayed on behinds the entire time even when there was 2 groups on the same hole as us. All they did was complain about the pace of our play, when we couldn’t play at all. The cart guy was rude and so was the front desk guy. Tee time was at 8:01 but didn’t tee off till almost 8:30

Decent little course for the money

Condition was disappointing
Have played this course many times in the past. Compared to recent play at other courses, the condition of the fairways, tee boxes and putting surfaces at Desert Sands was extremely disappointing. Other courses are still well maintained. Kinda felt like maybe they gave up on maintenance this year at Desert Sands. Sad, because I usually enjoy playing at this course.

it was golf
Played 2 over on the front nine and 8 over on the back nine. Greens were decent. Tee boxes are a bit rough. Could use some flattening. Skipped a hole to get ahead of a very slow foursome. Nice day.
