About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Scruff on the greens
Bumpy scruff greens on the front nine and three on the back. Poor conditions

Good Course
This was our second time to play this course. We selected it due to being a shorter course as my husband is recovering from ankle surgery. Challenging enough without being super long. Great value, friendly staff, and the course was in very good condition for a desert course. We will play it again.

Beginners course
Course is quite short and needs some tlc. Greens on front nine are in poor shape. Ok place if you just a place to swing your clubs.

Slow Play
The course was in great shape and a great value. The worst part was that it took close to 4-1/2 hrs. to play the round. There was no one out there to speed up slow groups, very disappointed. If your ok waiting on every hole then this is the course for you.

Greens could use work. They are rough and the grass is long. Very hard to putt on. Fairway grass is uneven and hard to hit the ball.

Friendly and fun.

One and done
We get there and learn there's a 40 min delay. Course is not in very good condition. Lots of bare areas. Tee boxes are like a wash board, it was hard to find a flat spot to hit off. BUT the major draw back is to get from the 13th to 14th holes we had to cross a 4 lane very busy road. Then again after 17 coming back.
Surrounding homes are extremely close.
On the plus side the staff was very nice.

Fun course for a good price
Par 65, with 1 par 5. Greens in very good shape. Fareways ok. Pace of play was slow, could have used a Marshall. Overall a fun course for the money.
