Talking Stick Golf Club - O'odham Course

About
The Talking Stick Golf Club features two golf courses designed by the architecture team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, who created distinct golf courses with enough choices to accommodate all levels of golfers. The golf club sits on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community reservation, a spot that provides the serenity necessary to endure a testing day of golf.
"Talking Stick's O'odham (formerly known as North Course) course, with its broad, angular holes rewards thoughtful play through the rise of its many options according to one's level of skill. Its low-profile, slightly crowned greens and close-cropped approaches encourage running as well as aerial assaults." -- Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw
The second hole is a par 5 that measures 552 yards from the Black tee and is one of two long holes, with the 17th being a par 5 that plays to 582 yards from the Black tees.
The 18th hole on the O'odham Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club is shorter, relatively speaking, a par 4 that measures 471 yards from the Black tees.

Save Your Money! (And Your Golf Pass Points) Zero Stars
Talking Stick isn't worth half what they charge to play. The par 4's are almost all over 400 yards, the fairways are pretty, but the greens were a joke. (punched and sandy) There was no cart service on a 107 degree day, they don't let you bring your own water, and the guys in the pro shop were jerks. They treat Golf Pass members with a Hot Deal like beggars! Spend your $$ somewhere else. ZERO STARS!
Unfriendly Staff
I would avoid Talking Stick. They might have the unfriendliest staff in town. Called this morning because they were wide open and they told me I could go out, just to come and they would fit me in as I was playing as a single. Got to the course, and they wouldn’t let me out because I paid twilight. Again wide open and I am a single. As many courses as there are in the area, I would and will play anywhere else. Course didn’t look in that good of condition.
Top notch
I booked a reservation on Golf now walked into the Pro shop gave my name said we’re all set. The starter was very friendly and there was an opening and got off 30 minutes earlier wide fairways. we played 6200 yards. two men and two women played it in four hours and 10 minutes. Good stuff highly recommend
Grossly Overpriced Course.
Over $100 to play this long, flat boring course! Not for working folks. There was no cart service (on a 107 degree day), zero shade and they won't let you bring your own water! The grass was nice on the fairways, but the greens were punched and sandy. The golf shirts in the "pro" shop were $135, instead of the usual ridiculous $80 at other courses!. ZERO STARS!
North Course Greens Very Slow
The course was in generally good condition, with tee boxes being leveled (for the most part), fairways a bit soft (not typical rollout), rough was manageable, sand traps in good shape, collars of greens were damp (checking balls on occasion), and and greens were quite slow (still recovering from recent aeration and sanding). Pace of play was very good for our foursome, as was value. Note that putting green was also very slow, given that it too had just reopened following conditioning.
Golf Snobs In The Pro Shop Ruined It For Me.
These name-tag-wearing hourly employees of the SRPMIC Indian Community act like they own Pebble Beach! They treat Golf Pass members like beggars. I usually brag on a course, then the staff, but the guys there ruined it for me. I admit that the course was beautiful, with gorgeous fairways. The greens had been recently punched, but weren't too sandy, and rolled well. Still, not worth what they ask to be around horrible snobs like the boys in the pro shop. ZERO STARS!
Zero Stars. Staff are Jerks. They Hate Golf Pass Members!
DON'T waste your Hot Deals at this course! They treat Golf Pass members like beggars, when they're just hourly employees of the Native Americans! They made me wait 2 hours in ARIZONA IN AUGUST to tee off, just because I had a Hot Deal. That is dangerous! Meanwhile, the #1 tee box stood empty! I'll admit that the course was absolutely beautiful, although there was ZERO cart service on a 107 degree day. I'll never go back!
ZERO STARS! The golf-snobs there are total jerks.
ZERO STARS! Never again! The golf snob clowns there think they're in Scottsdale, but they're hourly workers on the Reservation! I had a 1pm tee time, got there at 10am, and they made me wait 1 1/2 hours to tee off. IN ARIZONA! IN AUGUST! The course was empty, they were just being snobs. I played in 2 1/2 hours. EVERY other course I play here in AZ lets me tee off early to avoid the heat, but not these fake golf snobs. Just because they work at an expensive course, they think they're special! The course was beautiful, I've got to admit, but it's the people that ruined it for me. I'll never go back!
Talking Stick Delivers
A great day on a great course.
Less than 4 hour round and near perfect conditions on the course.
Hot weather but then it is mid summer here.,.
