El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course

Course wasn't marked very well, greens were not manicured, however, fairways were in good shape.

The course was in great shape and the price was really reasonable.

Having played this course over 20 years I have noted the changes Troon has made to make course more playable (without removing the challenges). Clearing undergrowth to find ball easier, managing the rough cut to prevent a ball hit to center of fairway not rolling in a wash, removing trees that really restricted line to hole for a white tees player, etc, etc. Narrow fairways, few opportunities to play an errant shot from an adjacent faraway, the course is already difficult . Troon has changed it from misery to challenging.

It’s not every day you see dead, shaggy cups on every hole, and pins not properly changed. I’m not sure the corporation tuning the course knows what to do.

The Canada side has 6 holes with footprint damage from grounds crew poison on shoes, and the pin placements have not been moved for at least a couple weeks. The grass Is damaged and is over growing the cups on every hole. Very poor greens control. No water for golfers during the high heat. Not a top class run course.

For the dog days of August, today's weather was ideal for a round of golf. Apparently, many others felt that way since both courses had a lot of play. Weekends can often be maddeningly slow, but pace of play was very good. A lot of the credit goes to the players, but there was also a marshal's presence. He was quite pleasant, as were all course employees from the pro shop to the cart girl. We played the Canada course, and despite the beating that Mother Nature has laid on Southern Arizona this summer, the course was in fine shape. The greens rolled true, and at a legitimate speed. The fairways and areas through the green were not perfect, but decent. No areas intended to be playable were unplayable. Even the bunkers were in good shape, for the most part, which is unusual considering the volume of water that has been deposited on the region this monsoon. Speaking on behalf of my playing partners, we truly enjoyed our day of golf at El Conquistador. I hope to return soon.

We had a great time playing the Canada course. Staff is friendly and professional. My daughters and I have taken lesson there and found them to be a good value. Mark the golf pro is friendly and knowledgeable. I learned new techniques each time I had a lessons.

I am a Tucson native and have golfed at almost all the courses here in Tucson. Conquistador is a very good golf course for Tucson. It is usually kept in good shape and the staff is very friendly. It was a little warm today, but this is the desert.

Course was in good shape. Greens were a little discolored and very slow but otherwise course in good condition. We definitely will play again.

First time playing this course and my 8th time playing golf ever!!, so my review maybe unofficial. Course and people were great, putting green, driving range, and chipping green were the best yet to warm up. Overall fantastic experience, and hoping to get back out there soon.

Greens we're incredible and true rolling. Difficult to read but enjoyed it. Lunch was awesome.
