El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course
About
The Canada Course plays through forests of mesquite trees, offering a parkland atmosphere amongst a desert landscape. The natural terrain snakes through ravines and arroyos, providing several natural hazards. Considerable mounding, doglegs and elevation changes provide a varied layout, making club selection an important factor in addition to careful strategy. Golfers should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The course’s signature hole is the eighth hole, considered one of the toughest par 3s in Tucson. The hole requires players to drive the ball uphill along a narrow ridge between two Saguaro cacti, and canyons border the greens on both sides.

Typical of course condition Photo submitted by DARoyer on 03/29/2013
Greens in very good condition
The course was in very good shape. (Except for the sand traps which are a wip). The cups were set properly with no crown around them. . A BIG THANK YOU!!
Great place to play

This golf course is always is grand condition. Your staff is always friendly and treats everyone with respect and kindness. Today was perfect in every way. Your starter is very welcoming and makes you feel very happy that you choose this golf course. Thank you, and I will be playing this course a lot this summer.
By the way, I live in a retirement community Saddlebrooke Ranch and never play golf here because of poor course conditions, and absolutely horrible golf course management.
Thank you again, and I will see you soon.

Old Golfer
The Canada course has been in really good condition. I especially like the fact there is grass around the greens so it makes it easier to chip! Greens were medium speed, and putted true. Have become a fan of this course.

One Of Our Local Favorites
While we live a few miles away in the golf community of SaddleBrooke, we so enjoy ‘going off campus’ to play at El Conquistador Canada Course. It is my favorite of the two courses here. Besides presenting a challenging (though fair) course layout for all players, the views of the nearby Santa Catalina Mountains are spectacular and the courses afford some of the best views of the northwest part of Tucson. Placement of shots is essential so course knowledge comes in handy to avoid getting into trouble.
While you don’t circle back to the clubhouse after 9 holes, well stocked and well placed bathrooms are maintained on the course. Greens are large and challenging, are so much fun to putt on.
If you get hungry or thirsty in the course, there is a snack/drink cart which you can always count on at least once or twice to be around during your round.
While you certainly have numerous courses to choose from, if you have never played here before, do yourself a favor and come experience the courses at El Conquistador - two of our area’s ‘gems’.

Good
The course is in excellent condition with the exception of the bunkers. Fairway grass is great and greens are good. The bunkers need to be conditioned with removal of rocks and more sand. But Oro Valley is doing an excellent job of keeping the courses in very good shape with good value.

El Canada
Beautiful golf course. Finally, a golf course in Tucson with grass in the fairways. Excellent greens. I enjoyed every minute of my round.. I could not get on the range, though. No balls,no open spots. I will be back soon. Thank you.
