El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course
About
The Canada Course plays through forests of mesquite trees, offering a parkland atmosphere amongst a desert landscape. The natural terrain snakes through ravines and arroyos, providing several natural hazards. Considerable mounding, doglegs and elevation changes provide a varied layout, making club selection an important factor in addition to careful strategy. Golfers should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The course’s signature hole is the eighth hole, considered one of the toughest par 3s in Tucson. The hole requires players to drive the ball uphill along a narrow ridge between two Saguaro cacti, and canyons border the greens on both sides.

Typical of course condition Photo submitted by DARoyer on 03/29/2013
No Starter no Ranger very slow play bag staff more interested in cleaning carts then. Helping customers I carried my wife and my clubs to the car my self. Used to belong nothing has changed in last couple of years. Not interested in belonging or playing there again
No Ranger=Slow Play
A foursome held up play without offering us an opportunity to play through. When we finally skipped a hole to go around, we found two holes open. A ranger on the course could have solved this issue. The course winds through neighborhoods and shopping centers. The carts have no GPS. The views are spectacular. Quarry Pines is a better course and value. Just my opinion.
One of pair they put with us was a chatterbox and got worse the more he drank. Really distracting Greens are very well maintained. Could use more signage for cart paths, especially hole 15 that runs along a street.
Challenging course with terrific views, fairway and greens in good shape. Driving range a bit small and nit much turf to hit from
Definitely better than 4 stars
Loved my round here. Very impressed with the plushness of the grass, shape of the greens, and challenge of the layout. Would absolutely play again and not as extreme of target golf as other places I've played in Tucson. That being said, it's definitely not a grip and rip style golf course.
Nice Solid Golf Course
We only played the front 9 of the Canada Course.
I’m an 8 handicap who hits his driver about 230 and I found I should hit 3 wood on most holes except for the 1st par 5 as the balls can run through the fairways if you don’t hit the right shape and line. It feels a little short. Very challenging layout with perfect greens. Greens are small and elevated so accuracy is important. All in all a hair below Starr Pass in terms of quality and layout. But very close. Great value for money. Pace of play was 2 hrs 10 min for 9 holes on a Saturday.
Challenging course
Beautiful views, elevation changes, not many straight fairways, need to stay on the fairways or ball will be lost in desert or rock washes. Course was in great condition!
Nice courses
Nice course in good condition with interesting holes and fast greens .
Nice course
Course was in very good condition. They needed to mow the tees.
Course in good shape
Tee boxes, fairways & greens in great condition. Greens were fast ( which I like). Constructive comments, bunkers could use more sand, & pace of play, at least yesterday, was slow (5 hours). That is not typically the case here. Will definitely be back soon.
