About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Bad day of golf is still better than a good day at work.
Horrific course conditions
From tee Box, fairways and greens everything was in terrible shape. Not a good place to play right now. Not even for the on line prices.

Course is in almost unplayable condition. Not worth playing right now. 7/10/21
Needs work
The greens were in good shape but very slow, there is a lot of bare and burnt out spots all over the fairways and around the greens. The tee boxes were burnt out and grassless in some cases.
Poor Conditions
No starter.
Recycled sprinklers turned on 3 different holes.
Slow Players 2 groups ahead of my twosome not allowing play through.
Women's tee boxes are terrible.
Otherwise I love this course.
Horrible fairways
I’ve played this course many time and this was by far the worst conditions I’ve seen there. The greens, for the most part, were very good. However, the fairways, tees and bunkers were awful. They seem to be losing the battle on keeping the fairways playable.

Course is in decent shape for summer tee boxes and some of the greens are rough but that's to be expected price a little high for what you get

Too many singles were out and the pace of play was slowed down because they were constantly playing through. The course was in very rough shape, not what I expected. I've played that course for many years and hope it gets better, because it has huge potential.
Greens are bad
Greens are bad. Lots of dry spots. Holes from air raiding them. Maybe add some sand.
Great older course
O play this course 6+ times a year. Great staff good condition!
Too late in year to play this one
Conditions were poor. Fairways, tee boxes and many greens were brown. Guess now that the snowbirds are gone, they don't care as much about conditions. Remember that there are many year-round local golfers and they want decent conditions too.
Nice day
Course really good for walkers. Some greens almost lost from cutting too short or water issues. Fairways, tees generally poor to fair. May be transition from winter grasses to summer grasses. Nice golf shop, restaurant. Staff all very friendly. Will try again next fall.
