El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Conquistador Course

Front nine was absolutely gorgeous, back nine not as much. Gorgeous course. Played La Cañada. Can’t wait to go again!

The greens were punched recently so the greens were bumpy thus not true. Scoring was much higher for our group.

I’ve played El Conquistador many times and have always had a good experience. I appreciate how well-run it is with starters and marshalls. The course is a fun level of challenging and has great views. It is a great value!

Course in great shape. Sand traps could be better.

Conditions were good considering the time of year.

Warm breezy day on a dry course with elevated greens, could have been perfect, but instead it was slow with no effort by the Marshall to speed things up. 4.5hour rounds might be acceptable to some but when it is hot, there is little shade, and the group in front of you is pulling the pin, looking for their balls in the brush, it is hard to feel the joy.

Great place to play and course is in great shape. Highly recommend to all. Greens in Great condition. Scenery is top notch. The range, putting green, and chipping areas are set up perfect. Also when you enter and leave, you are greeted and clubs put in your cart and clubs cleaned at the end of your round. Awesome Awesome Awesome.

Course in general was as usual.

Pleasant surroundings, varied course design, relatively good course conditions for time of season with changing grasses on turf.

This was the second time we played this course. Overall the course is in good condition, but parts of some fairways are dried out and the sand traps frequently had small rocks in them. The greens are in great condition, but are fast and firm, which can make it difficult to hold the greens with your approach shot from a distance. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. This course is challenging but fair, and since it is desert golf, bring extra balls as you will not want to be looking in the brush and cactus for any shots that miss the fairways. And maybe because of this we found the pace of play to be excellent.

Must be the shoulder season since there were not many golfers out - none in front or behind. Best time of year to play here - end of April.

Course conditions were very good . Staff very friendly,. Highly recommended!

I wondered why the tee time was so cheap.

Well the apparently had a tournament or an outing that was extremely slow or did not start on time.

And I guess we either got stuck in the middle of the event or right at the end of it.

Quit after 9 holes.

Took over 2 and 30 minutes to play the front 9.

Waited on every shot.

Pulled up to hole number five the par 5 and there were two other groups waiting to tee off.

Probably waited 15 minutes to tee off on that hole.

Not a ranger or staff member anywhere in sight to try and speed up the pace of play.

Played here many times and never had an issue with the pace of play.

I will know in the future if I see a tee time for 50% off not to make the same mistake again.
