El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Conquistador Course

Horrible experience starting with the directions within the GolfNow reservation being incorrect. Asked the starter for some insight to the course since it was my first time playing here and he pointed to the first tee. Great, thanks. Paired up with a twosome and another single and off we go. Thursday morning, 8:45 am. We play the first two holes very slowly, but are still waiting on every shot. Ranger drives by at full speed in his golf cart with zero eye contact. Each hole is dragging by, not helped by the fact that each of them look roughly the same. No more ranger the entire time. We end up finishing 11 holes in 3 hours and 10 minutes!!!! At that point, I called it quits and just drove in. Just a horrible experience and one I will never be repeating at this course.

Directions in GolfNow are incorrect, nice start. Range is hitting off dirt and hitting balls that are left over from 1970. Got out 10 minutes early for my 8:50 tee time and had to quit after 11 holes at 11:50!! 3:10 to play 11 holes. Saw a ranger on hole 2, gave us a wave, I guess he didn’t see the 4 males ahead of us were already a hole behind? Course over watered, casual water everywhere. Greens with dead spots. Horrible experience.

Course is below average. Carts and aminities way below average. Played 4 years ago and cannot believe how things have deteriorated.

Greens were super fast but for the most part in fair winter shape. My complaint, no staff on hand for afternoon play or beer girl. Your missing an opportunity. Snowbirds bring your own.

We came down from Colorado to play golf and everything about this course met our expectations. Your staff was awesome and the course was in good shape considering the time of year. We liked it so much we came back to play the next day at the Canada course.

Very nice course. Cart paths are not in good condition and sometimes it was hard to know where the next hole was. Lots of houses around.

Great course, especially when you have it to yourself. We golfed on a cloudy and cold day when locals stayed huddled inside. We never saw another golfer during our entire round. The course was in great shape and we had a blast.

GREAT STAFF FUN COURSE WITH SOME REALLY NICE VIEWS

I guess fairly typical for Arizona - tight, green fairways and brown dormant Bermuda grass for the rough. Many of the holes looked and played the same. We were lucky to have incredible weather and had a good time playing the course.

Our foursome has been traveling to Arizona for 30 years and to Tucson for the last 3. Last year we rented a house near El Conquistador so we played their Canada course. We enjoyed that enough to prompt us to return to try the Conquistador course. We were happy we did. Course conditions were terrific, the layout was solid and pace of play moved right along. The only negative was that we wanted to have a drink after and couldn't find anywhere convenient to do so. We'll be back.
