El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Conquistador Course

Very nice course. Cart paths are not in good condition and sometimes it was hard to know where the next hole was. Lots of houses around.

Great course, especially when you have it to yourself. We golfed on a cloudy and cold day when locals stayed huddled inside. We never saw another golfer during our entire round. The course was in great shape and we had a blast.

GREAT STAFF FUN COURSE WITH SOME REALLY NICE VIEWS

I guess fairly typical for Arizona - tight, green fairways and brown dormant Bermuda grass for the rough. Many of the holes looked and played the same. We were lucky to have incredible weather and had a good time playing the course.

Our foursome has been traveling to Arizona for 30 years and to Tucson for the last 3. Last year we rented a house near El Conquistador so we played their Canada course. We enjoyed that enough to prompt us to return to try the Conquistador course. We were happy we did. Course conditions were terrific, the layout was solid and pace of play moved right along. The only negative was that we wanted to have a drink after and couldn't find anywhere convenient to do so. We'll be back.

Great course with lots of variety and challenges. Greens were very fast and with considerable slope it was easy to putt 7 -8 feet past the hole on a downhill putt. Fairways in excellent condition. Rough was thin so the ball would roll through into the dessert easily. Some very good shots resulted in less than good results. Grass around greens was also cut very short. Friendly staff made it a very good experience.

This was a 5hr round. Never before anywhere. This amount of wasted time just kind of takes the fun out of golf. There is no grass off the fairways. The greens are so raised that if you pisd the green by just a couple of feet, your ball bounces so jigh and so far off the area that some of the times you lose your ball. Extra penalty shot. Not cool. On the 17th par 3 hole, i hit what all of us thought was excellant shot, pin high, very high ball flight. Ball ends up 20-25 feet left of pin. The ball landed very soft with no spin. Totally unfair green.

If you don't mind every hole having a small elevated green that is wicked fast, then this course if for you. I don't mind fast greens but these were ridiculous. You'd have to be a pro to get your ball to bite on these small greens. Won't play here again.

If you like putting on concrete this is the course. The overall course is nice but something has happened to their greens. That is why it gets a 3 star rate.

Fairways were great. Greens not so much. They were very dry with burnt out areas and super hard. Difficult to hold the green. Also hardpan in bunkers under about 1 mm of sand and pebbles. If not familiar with course, a map on the scorecard would help. Nice views of Pusch Ridge from course. After playing both Conquistador and Canada course, I prefer Canada.

Nice views. Tee boxes beat up. A few greens in poor shape. Greens fast.
