Poor driving range golf ball availability.
I was disappointed that there were very limited range balls available. I hit approximately 15 balls due to the balls being in the range instead of stacked up on the ball plates.
The greens need some help. They need to be maintained better.
The fairways were nice. Pretty course.

Great condition
We played the conquistador course and it was in excellent condition. Over seeding was successful and the cart-path-only restriction had been lifted. The greens were in great shape. Play was a little slow,but we finished in just over 4 hours.

Good value
Considering the prices some courses in the Tucson area advertise, this course is a good value and reasonable deals are available daily for singles willing to pair with others. Too bad the Town of Oro Valley will not spend any money as the carts and cart paths are in great need of upgrading. The layout itself is attractive and several holes provide views of the Catalina Mountains that are quite spectacular. The staff should be attentive to pairing players to speed play. There were two twosomes ahead of our foursome. They were following another foursome and play really backed up in the afternoon. Still, both the El Con and Canada courses are worth playing when you visit Tucson and Oro Valley.

17th green, Conquistador side
What the heck is going on? The green became infected during the last aeration, became severe during the summer and since reseeding nothing was done to improve it. It appears to be a fungus and you cant plant grass over it to make it go away. The green is unplayable.

The fareways were as good or better then any courses I've played in Tucson.
The grass was so nice it looked fake It was very well gromed the first cut was cut nice . Some of the greens were rough especially 18. Over all I'm definitely going to play that course again . I want to say thank you Mike for finding my range finder ,you went out of your way . Staff is friendly and very helpful .
I LOVE El Conquistador
I played with a friend this morning. Tee time 7:20am. Pace of play was awesome, we got our 18 holes in in 3:38. The tee boxes, fairways and greens (except #17 which is under repair) were perfect. I love this course.
