Ventana Canyon - Mountain Course
About
The Mountain Course at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon, one of two Tom Fazio designs at this Tucson resort, is a classic desert-style target golf course has quick, undulating greens, elevated tee shots and a number of memorable holes. With four sets of tees, this par-72 course can be stretched to nearly 6,900 yards. The signature hole, the short par-3 third, is one of the most photographed holes in the Southwest and has been known to give up a few aces from balls that ricochet off the boulders that surround the green.

Great course
This is the second time we’ve played here and there’s a reason we came back because it’s a great course. We love everything about it.
Lovely
Only a woman would describe a round of golf as lovely, right? :) My husband and I were paired up with a local gentleman and his son-in-law on the Canyon course. One beautiful golf hole after another. It was a gorgeous sunny day in January. I must add:
my husband eagled a short par 4 on the back!!!
Will definitely go back to check out the mountain course.
Thanks for leaving us a review, we hope you'll come see us again soon!
TUCSON AT IT'S FINEST

Excellent condition
Beautiful views and interesting course. Greens tough to read if you are a first time golfer here. Staff extremely friendly.

Beautiful sceney and wonderful golf
Very nice course to play. Lot of difference altitudes. Elevated greens. Very onduleted and quick. Stimt > 10.
Look out for 4 putts !!!
Well maintained. We will come again soon
Thanks for leaving us a review, Bert. We look forward to seeing you again next time!
Mountain course
It took a while to find the mountain course starting point, having to drive 3/4 mile to get to the starter and 1/4 mile back to get to the 1st tee. Once there however, it was a pleasure to play. The conditions were immaculate and the pace of play great. We finished in 3 hours.. the greens were fast and without a blemish and the tee boxes and fairways were also in great condition.. some high elevation holes in the front nine and a bit more canyon type holes on the back nine.. the course is not inexpensive but worth a splurge.
We appreciate you leaving us a review, and we hope you'll come see us again soon!

Won’t be back
When I arrived at the course, it is very poorly marked. I spent an extra 20 minutes trying to get to the right location. The others in my group had a similar experience. The staff told me they heard that a lot. There is no bag drop location. The course is primarily a private club and the members apparently resent the public. When finished, I wanted to use the restroom and wash my hands and face. I was told the had no restrooms. The was a restaurant and gym next to the pro shop but no restrooms for the public. The facility was for members only. I won’t be back. A lousy experience.
Thanks for leaving us a review, Jebeler! We hope you'll book another round with us soon.
Tough and fun
First of all, the course is beautiful. Greens are smooth and fast. This course is demanding. You must know the greens. A bad placement can almost guarantee a three put. The course is well maintained and the staff is friendly and very helpful.

Beautiful layout
A friend of mine and I played the Mountain Course yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Every hole very different than the others. Beautiful setting. A lot of elevation changes and subtle bumps near green to make chips difficult. Greens very fast especially going away from the mountains.
Thanks for leaving us a review, James. We hope you'll come see us again soon!
Not worth it
Played the mountain course. It’s target only, resort golf. Mud on every teeball (in the afternoon, it had not rained). Does not allow for varying types of shots to be played. Even bunkers are wet underneath surface. No chance of playing the course the way the designers intended with these conditions.
We appreciate you taking time to leave us a review, and we apologize if playing conditions weren't quite up to your expectations. We hope you'll come see us again soon!
Very Tough
Course is in excellent condition and very difficult. The greens are rolling as is most of the course. Bunkers are sandy, not like most courses in Tucson.

The Cherry on Top
Vent Ana was the third course played on a three day excursion in Tucson. The greens were amazing and the best of the three courses played. The course was immaculately groomed. The fairways were plush, sand was great and we played in four hours. If you have never played the course the only negative was the drive between several holes. But face it, the carts do all the work.
Thanks for leaving us a review, Gaston! We hope you'll come see us again soon.

Brutally slow play
Excellent conditions, excellent design, friendly and helpful staff but brutally slow play.
We appreciate you leaving us a review, Cove. We're sorry to hear pace of play was a concern, but we hope you'll come see us again soon nevertheless!
We're glad to hear it, Tonga. Come see us again soon!
