Goat track at best
Not sure how these other reviews that I read could be considered credible. Course is in terrible condition. The swaths of green considered fairways are marginal at best, can't play your ball down as you could be in a dead spot on the fairway. Once you get off that swath of green, forget it. It is all hardpan with ob's on both sides of the fairways. If you hit it 240 or more off the tees, you will roll ob unless you hit it dead straight. Greens were okay, but not great, some places where the ball would roll back to your feet if you leave it 2 inches short of the hole. I would not recommend this course to anyone.
The 49er is a dependable, affordable course to play.
We've played the 49er several times. The staff is friendly.
We have always been able to maintain pace of play overall. The front usually plays more quickly than the back. It is a good value.
Great experience
I have been looking forward to play this course and I was not disappointed..
Thanks Forty Niner golf club, the course was fun and in very well conditions.
Looking forward to go back..
What a beautiful Day
On a February day with the temperatures in the mid 70s, it was as close to heaven on earth as one could come with most of the rest of the country shoveling out and trying not to freeze their butts off. A beautiful hawk flew overhead twice as we worked our way around the course, usually waiting a while for each shot but on a day like this in February, who could complain. Kenny, the starter, got us out right on time and his welcome always makes you feel like you are kind of special. What an asset he is to the course. The cart lady was very pleasant as well and I look forward to my next experience at the course. Thank you.
49ers g. c.
I enjoyed playing the 49ers g. c. very much.
Fast greens, nice layout, strategy needed, well maintained course , 4hours on the nose for the round and a very visually appealing course. Definitely worth the drive to far eastern edge of Tucson for a good round of golf. It ranks in my top 5 or so to play. Looking forward to going back again & again.
Overseeding Now
Course can be boggy in places but does not interrupt play to a great extent. Starter very friendly. Refreshment cart operating.
watch the speed on putts
I found this course to be hard to play. The greens are lightening fast. man I got on them in regulation but I sure could not putt them.
I only had 3 pars on the front and 2 on the back nine.
The putting just ate me up. The greens were in great shape. They were greased lightening. The fairways were in good shape after being over seeded.
Great views of Rincons good laid back atmosphere
Golf experience was a 3.5 stars.
Greens were smooth and consistent speed. Customers need to repair ball marks. NO rough per se, dirt and minimal evidence of dormant grass.
Not a problem from fairway.
Grill service can improve slow
Course in great shape
The course is very playable with good grass around the greens for chipping. I saw several workers out on the course so it is only going to get better. My only wish the tee time were spread out more. Going 7 then 8 minutes apart causes back ups and slow play. Overall a great experience.
