The Views Golf Club at Oro Valley
About
The Views Golf Club at Oro Valley in Tucson is so named for its stunning vistas provided by the nearby Catalina Mountains. The desert-inspired layout features a rolling terrain that blends in seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Trees dot the golf course and there is also an abundance of native cacti throughout. Designed by Greg Nash, the layout features large, rolling greens that are subtly elevated. The front nine meanders through dry washes and arroyos while the back nine snakes upwards to higher grounds. The back nine is more challenging than the front with more elevated tee shots and sharp doglegs. There is a small lake that comes into play and several strategically placed bunkers throughout. The Views Golf Club at Oro Valley also features a driving range and short-game practice area.

Great Course for all Plyrs
WE both enjoyed this course. Myself being a moderate player and my husband a more experienced player.
You can't fault them on the name. The views were very beautiful.
2/9/14...course was superb!
One of the best conditioned courses in Tucson throughout the year and currently in perfect shape! Go play!
Disappointed with course conditions.
My brother and I played the Views for the first time. Pace of play was good and the course has some very good holes and great views of the Catalinas. On some holes the homes are too close to the course but don't really come into play unless you are really wild.
We were both very disappointed in the course condition. Several holes were brown--not reseeded--almost dirt. The rough on the whole course was like that but several fairways were as well. There are better values around Tucson as the cost was $49.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to read your first time playing here was a disappointment. Your comments have been forwarded to our golf course maintenance staff. The course did undergo a greens reconstruction project and overseeding last summer and is still in the process of growth. We hope you will give us another chance in the future. .
Nice condition
Course was in very good condition and fun to play. Several holes with strange driving lines, or lay ups off the tees.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. We appreciate all feedback. Looking forward to seeing you back on the links!
great day
This is a very challenging course so use the correct tees for you. unsure of a lot of tee shots directions BUT loved the layout and the greens run true and FAST. All staff were very pleasant and the practice areas were good.
Will definitely go back
Thanks for the great review! We are so glad you had a great golfing experience with us and look forward to seeing you again!
Great course
Great course, paired with a very nice couple, weather cool, played gold tees which were fine for me. Will play again!
Thank you so much for the great review! We are happy to read you had a fantastic golfing experience (despite the weather) and look forward to seeing you back sometime soon!
Beautiful views; plays fair
Welcoming staff, beautiful Catalina Mountain views. I used to think this course was really difficult. Now I say that it is very fair. Just manage your targets thoughtfully or suffer the consequences.
Non-members not welcome
I played this course with a friend of mine and we got paired up with an older couple on vacation. None of us are great golfers, but we played at a steady pace. Behind us were several groups of members that seemed to be in a huge rush. At one point the Marshall asked us to let a group play through, which we willingly did. Things were going fine after that until halfway through the back 9. On the 14th hole, the Marshall sat in his cart and glared at us while we played the hole. When we finished, he came up to us and was extremely rude. He said people behind us were complaining. He made a point of saying, in an angry tone that as Marshall, he could make us skip ahead 2 holes if he felt like it. We then played as fast as we possibly could and after 1 hole, were stuck waiting for the group in front of us, that we had previously let play through. We ended up finishing 18 holes in 4:15 minutes which includes the time we lost letting the other group play through. If people are in such a hurry that they can't stand a 4 hour round by a foursome, then they should book less people on the course.
The other problem with this course is that most of it was in great condition, except there were 4 or 5 holes that had no grass anywhere but the green. Apparently, they are trying to save money and water by not overseeding all the holes. I can understand that, but it should be stated before a tee time is booked.
Based on the above problems, I will never play on this course again.
The course is always in good shape.
The Views can be tough because there are a lot of doglegs, elevated greens and you seldom get a flat lie. The rough this time of year is "rough"......Overall, a fun course to play. Course knowledge definitely helps scoring.
Thank you so much for the nice and detailed review. We really appreciate it! It makes us very happy to read you feel this is a fun course, and we look forward to seeing you back soon!
Beautiful Course
This course is in the best shape of any course in Tucson. Fairways looked like artificial grass immaculately groomed and the greens were outstanding. It was so great we are returning on Monday to play again.
Challenging and well maintained
The Views is one of my favorite courses, tough but fair it offers many opportunities to score but mistakes can be costly. Target golf in the desert, it puts a premium on accuracy. A good score here is particularly satisfying.
Overseed came in well
Greens in great shape, getting fast again. Whole course in good shape.
Pace of play
We as a threesome were behind a very slow foursome. then added to that a twosome was behind us.
Well organized and neat.
Course provided brochure of layout and distance info which was really helpful. Our group plans to play there again. Only draw back was Grille closed at 3:00 pm. Drinks, but no food.
Great discovery
Great discovery. Course is super pleasant to play and staff is most welcoming. Greens and fairways were immaculate.
Great deal. Fun course. Well maintained, friendly staff
Fun course. Worth the time. Friendly staff. Well maintained.
Great course when you, the public, can get on it.
Older course located in Vistoso community. Just over seeded and heavily watered but in excellent shape. Really gives women golfers a chance at par. Probably needs a couple of weeks more to grow out and root its overseeding, but excellent course for the money if and when you can get on.
Great variety in the design
Course was in excellent condition. Very challenging and the windy conditions in the afternoon increased the difficulty. Fun to play. Highly recommend!
Beautiful course layout
Beautiful layout maintained in perfect condition. Good flow of players makes for pleasant conditions with plenty of challenge.
Thank you so much for your review! We really appreciate it and it is nice to read you all had a great round. Looking forward to seeing you again on the links!
