Mike Dasher's Highlands Reserve (opened 1998) is suggestive and irresistible. The course sits on the edge of a long sand shelf called the Green Swamp Ridge near the town of Davenport, spanning 120 feet from top to bottom. Dasher's holes fairly dance around it, two-stepping from a high point at the first green all the way to the low basin of the 13th fairway.

You will find pine tree-lined fairways reminiscent of the Carolinas, open spacious fairways likened to the great Scottish courses, and a bit of old Florida with citrus trees along the countryside.

Course condition

First time playing this course and the the entire course was great. Tee boxes full of grass, smooth and not lumpy. Fairways were very smooth and not patchy. Greens were true and rolling smooth. Even the rough was manicured great with a great cut where if mis hit a ball you could still easily find the ball.

Staff was also very friendly, wife was hurt and couldn't play so she was just riding. They let her ride and didn't charge a rider fee. At the turn went in for a couple hotdogs and was talking to the staff in the club house. Made us feel welcome and not out of place.

But for the price, really cannot beat the course conditions.

Great day at the course

Beautiful day for golf with moderate wind. Course a little dry but in decent shape. Pins were located in most edges so in difficult positions and a little slow relative to most local courses. Will be playing the course again in the future,
