Highlands Reserve Golf Club
About
Mike Dasher's Highlands Reserve (opened 1998) is suggestive and irresistible. The course sits on the edge of a long sand shelf called the Green Swamp Ridge near the town of Davenport, spanning 120 feet from top to bottom. Dasher's holes fairly dance around it, two-stepping from a high point at the first green all the way to the low basin of the 13th fairway.
You will find pine tree-lined fairways reminiscent of the Carolinas, open spacious fairways likened to the great Scottish courses, and a bit of old Florida with citrus trees along the countryside.

Great starting course
We were a four some and had one beginner in our group. The staff was very accommodating and put us out earlier to avoid busier times.
We had a great time with the course. Beverage cart
was around plenty of times and all staff was excellent. Course is in great shape everywhere.
Ending on two par 5’s is always fun.
Give this course a shot. You’ll enjoy the layout.
Holiday golf
Have played Highlands Reserve many times over the years. It is a great course for holiday golf. I have always found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The course was in very good condition considering how close to hurricane Milton I played it.
The only thing that lets it down, imo, is a proper clubhouse & bar to enjoy some post round refreshments.
Very surprised ,much improved.
The course conditions were excellent. The greens were excellent. The staff ,the starter are no nonsense. They could use someone to help the poor lady at the concession stands. Good bird watching!😆
Pace of play, ranger
Couple of buddy’s and myself came over from Tampa to play this course for the first time. Morning tee time and we got off the 1st tee about 13 minutes after scheduled start time. Front 9 was pretty slow as we waited on the tee box and during our approach shots on each hole. The three of us carry handicaps ranging from 8.5 to 11 and play amateur tournaments so we are familiar with pace of play and are not hacks at the game. As we finished the front 9 and were on the tee box on #10 one of the rangers approached us and rudely mentioned “You guys need to pick up the pace and that we took 2 1/2 hours to play the front 9!” We responded back to him that it was not us holding up everyone and he again arrogantly commented that, “We don’t play 5 hour rounds here, only 4 hours and he is not going to argue with us!!” I’ve been playing this game for over 40 years and this rangers attitude and communication skills is out of line. He is the rudest ranger I’ve ever come across on any golf course. Apart from him, we enjoyed the course layout and elevation changes. Greens were a little on the slow side, but in great shape.
beautiful course
What a gem of a course. I played at 732 am on a Friday with two gentlemen who were very friendly. One was from Pennsylvania and the other from New York. Both very informative in giving tips on how the holes played. I wish there were more golfers like them. I was a first time visitor and even the guys in the parking lot who were getting ready to play were very cordial . The guy who brought my golf cart to me at my car was a special treat I don’t get that back home in Massachusetts. He was very friendly too. To the owners of this course you did a great job with personnel. The lady at the pro shop and starter were nice too. I definitely will be back. Thank you for making my golf experience a good one. May God Bless you all.
A good friendly golf course
No course ranger !! On the day we played the group in front of us,lost 2 holes , it was painfully slow .
Course was in good condition, especially the green. Pace of play was excellent (3:30). Good value for a course near Orlando.
Some of the best greens in central Florida
Pace of play has always been solid. Greens are some of the best in central Florida
Highlands Reserve is a Winner
Played course on 10/15/24. Beautiful course and conditions were great. Counter staff is always terrific! Love this course!!
Great Course in Great Shape
I hadn't played here in a few years, but the greens are better than I have ever seen. They swapped the nines which makes for a challenging finish. Great Orlando area course that not a lot of visitors know about.
Fun Day of Golf
Highlands Reserve is a nice place to play golf. The course is in great shape, it’s reasonable and the staff is very helpful.
Fun Course, Great Value!
Wow! I was looking for a course to play after Hurricane Milton thinking most courses would be closed or saturated. I was shocked how dry HR was. It drains so well! And the course was in terrific shape and well manicured. It was also a lot of fun to play. It doesn’t look like a Florida course. Lots of hills and undulations, but a fair course that’s very forgiving off the tee. Beautiful views too! One of the best golf values I have experienced. The staff were extremely friendly. They had a kind ranger that kept things moving. I will definitely be back to play this gem.
Great for the ego
The course is very nice, and very easy. If you want to hit the best score of your life this is the place. The clubhouse guy told me it would be easy, but I doubted him as I suck. Then I made 5 15 to 20 foot putts and chipped one in from 40ft.
