Mike Dasher's Highlands Reserve (opened 1998) is suggestive and irresistible. The course sits on the edge of a long sand shelf called the Green Swamp Ridge near the town of Davenport, spanning 120 feet from top to bottom. Dasher's holes fairly dance around it, two-stepping from a high point at the first green all the way to the low basin of the 13th fairway.

You will find pine tree-lined fairways reminiscent of the Carolinas, open spacious fairways likened to the great Scottish courses, and a bit of old Florida with citrus trees along the countryside.

The course has undergone upgrades to the greens and is a great value for the hot deal price. Very good course to begin your Florida stops on. Greens are tough to read but very fair. Staff was great. Enjoy the rebuilt Highlands Reserve.

Highlands Reserve

It was a beautiful sunny day but pretty windy at times. Highlands is a very nice course. The layout is challenging at times as I’m not a long hitter. The fairways were well kept and the greens were fast. Some par 5’s are quite long. The only negative was a 4 1/2 + hr round due to 4 ( hundred plus) players in front of us that we had to push the entire time, pulling up to their tees and waiting on their tee shots ( as well as their next 6,7,8 shots. One ranger finally came and warned them to speed up but that was no help at all. Rangers need to do their job and keep the playing times to around 4 hours!!

Played Highlands 3 times during our 7 week stay in Florida....Its come on so much in the last year or 2 never used to bother with it before but now the staff have really turned it around and played really well with great challenging greens...strongly recommend
