typical overbooking
course is good, management is poor. got there early to warm up. They had no range balls available and no golf carts. teed off 15 minutes late...played in just under 5 hours...and that was skipping a hole due to extremely slow group ahead of us. typical for this company who also manages summerfield and bloomingdale. wont be playing these courses for awhile.
Good option
The course layout was a nice change from the simple up and back designs typical in golf communities without a ton of land. Nice staff. Tee boxes, fairways and sand all in decent condition. Water lined a number of fairways but nothing crazy. The greens were mildly problematic for two reasons. 1. The pin placement on 3-4 holes was pretty rude (ex: on a down slope to a down hill apron where you had no chance to keep it on the green below the hole) 2. I’m unfortunately used to jags not fixing ball marks but this round was the worst I’ve seen in a while.
1st play this year
course was so so last year but we've always liked the layout so decided to give it a try. fairways are very thin and tight lies around the greens but greens rolled well.
it was very cold and windy so not very busy hence great pace of play.
This was my first time at the course, and I won't be going back. It took almost six hours to finish 18 holes, as we teed off 20 minutes late because there was no starter. No ranger was present to manage pace of play either. Trash was overflowing at trashcans and the restrooms were disgusting. At the turn I went inside for a drink and got a water at the water cooler. After filling my cup, I looked down and dirt was floating in it.
The only saving grace was the course itself. The layout was cool and the greens were in good shape. But that’s not enough to make up for the terrible experience overall. Save your money and find another course elsewhere.
Dont Expect Good Customer Service
Just a truly disappointing experience from the office. Unfortunately on Thanksgiving my cousins flights got moved and we had to cancel our reservation. When we called in the guy said no problem when we explained the situation and was very kind about it. Turns out later that they still charged me $250 to not play despite our specific circumstances. Now I know that when I signed up for the round it says that they have a 24 hour cancellation policy and as an avid golfer I understand that is important on high volume days to make sure that people are not cancelling last minute with no reason. However I have always had courses willing to make accommodations in special circumstances, especially on days when the course has alot of free tee times.
The general manager was not only willing to not help out in an unfortunate situation but was incredibly rude and would exclusively say "24 hour cancellation policy, 24 hour cancellation policy, 24 hour cancellation policy" while I attempted to explain why we had to cancel last minute. I am not someone who believes that the customer is always right, but I do believe that the customer has a right to be treated and listened to with respect.
Just an incredibly poor general manager and bad way to treat customers.
Slow play
I played the 12/26/24 and had an 11:07 tee time. It took 3 hours to play the front. I understand it’s the holiday rush, but 3 hours is ridiculous!! I quit after 12 holes because of the pace of play. Other then the pace of play, I like the course and the staff is friendly..
Good day on course, everyone was extremely helpful. We hope to come back soon.
Slow play but fun course
Course was in good shape though the greens and fairways would be in much better condition if everyone repaired their ball marks and filled their divots. Can’t understand why walkers were allowed during peak play times. Round was 4 hours and 45 minutes. Nice staff and price for the round was reasonable.
Great course
Couple of rough greens but nothing too bad. Tough course but fun. Great bar/food after.
Pace of play
This is an overall good course, but the pace of play is abysmal. They book 7 minute tee times, so it’s always stacked up. They also don’t have an on course marshal enforcing any pace of play. These factors are bad enough, but on this particular day they had most of the pin locations in really challenging positions, causing each group to take forever around the greens. Top that off with the gps controlled carts having random unmarked no drive zones that randomly shut the carts off with no warning, you are in for a long day. We gave up after 9 holes as it had already been 2 hours and 35 minutes.
