Nice wildlife
At the price we paid this course was a bargain.
Greens and fairways ok. Proshop not so friendly
(hotdeal?)
Starter and other staff friendly.
Pace first nine ok. Last nine very slow.
Great value and friendly staff
We booked the night before, and we're OK with the price. We were pleasantly surprised with all they provided including the round of golf in the car. The staff was especially friendly and outgoing.
Golf in a preserve
Senior tees off to side allowing for faster play
Fun place to play
Drought is starting to take its hold and the brown winter time spots are starting to show; but still a fun place to play... Greens in good shape and roll ture; but watch for the "grain"
Playing golf in slow motion
We were a twosome following a foursome until back 9 fore some became a five some. Saturday afternoon. Most miserable round I ever had. all we did all day was sit in the cart and watch. No course Marshal said anything about a five some.5 Plus hours.Never again.
Nice layout
This is not a long course but it has some challenges. Two of the holes require long carries or a lay up to avoid water hazards. Course management is very important.
Great value.
Great deal as it includes 2 drinks and a meal, but be sure to clarify this as at some times it just includes 2 drinks. Course is interesting, decent shape, greens a little slow, but it's challenging and a nice layout. For the price it's a brow-raiser!
Great Value
We played 9 holes starting at 3.00 p.m. The course was in much better condition than the last time I played it a couple of years ago. The fairways had recently been overseeded and the grass was doing well. The greens were in pretty good shape. Overall great value for the amount charged which included 2 draft beers
Its a great course for the money
Out of all the courses in Sarasota we play this course
mostly in the fall & winter. There are better courses,
but this one is good & some holes very challenging.
Great Course
Some holes are tough and need some real course management. Overall a good mix of challenges
Susan
Love this course! Open and forgiving! Beautiful setting. This is one of our most favorite courses to play in Sarasota area.
Serenoa have ben better
Very slæw and not maintened greens.
Fairways ok, but first cut need some moe cutting
Interesting layout
Really enjoyed this course, a reasonable distance from the whites for a 60 year old and pretty good and receptive greens for this time of year, BUT there is no pictures anywhere of the hole layouts ??
Not on the score card or the hole blackards and there are some holes that if you are playing this course for the first time like I was, one would really like to know about the water traversing the fairways, and as most courses in this area the sand traps were poor but that is common this time of year with all the rain.
Overall, a nice expeirence and a reasonable course, not really hard to take away all the fun but also some challenging holes.
I will play there again.
After the rain
Cart path only after heavy rains. Lots of walking suggests wide fairways. The wet rough was a challenge for me. A couple of holes had a creek across fairway that was not seen from the tee. Not a good surprise when playing the course for the first time. A few greens were rough but overall fair. Great staff. I am anxious to play it when dry.
Pace of play
Pace of play was the slowest during my vacation. Too many groups going off together. Not happy with the junior rate. I was told there were no charge for juniors but ended up paying full price.
Much Improved and Free Lunch
Hadn't been out to Serenoa in a while. The greens were much improved since I last played, and over all conditions were better than all the similarly priced courses in Sarasota. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they signed me up for their loyalty club and gave me the reduced loyalty rate with lunch. Great value for the price
Good Conditions at a Great Price
They have new owners and the course is in much better condition than even six months ago. The new owners seem to be putting condition first over profits. This course is not hard but is certainly not easy. There is a mix of challenging holes. The course has lots of water in play. The practice green was small and was not in very good condition, likely due to high play. I was worried the course greens would be bad, but they were smooth and rolling great. I highly recommend this course for condition and pricing.
Goat Pasture
Horrible conditions. Free beer doesn't make up for it.
I play regularly there
I play at Serenoa regularly. It is usually in good shape, and can be challenging from whites and esp. blues. It is a fun course. There's water in play on most holes. The staff is friendly, the pace of play is good, and they have some great golf+food combos. Clubhouse and practice facilities are average.
There are some legitimate, but relatively minor criticisms: there are often a few mushy spots even if there's been no rain--they over-water, or lack proper drainage in places. The sand traps could use more sand. The greens have always been fine when I played, though I've heard some negative comments around punching and over-seeding times. It's just good sense at any course to ask about playing conditions when you book a tee time.
I'm very satisfied with this course, and will continue to play regularly.
Not worth playing.
The greens are in terrible condition, bumpy and very slow. I won't play here again.
