About
The Natural at Beaver Creek Resort sits along the western shore of Otsego Lake. As its name implies, the course blends seamlessly into the beautiful surroundings. The challenging layout requires accuracy so don't let the scenery distract you too much. Trees line the meandering fairways and water hazards come into play throughout. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greensides as well. The front nine is somewhat tight but the back nine spreads out nicely. Before finishing the front nine, golfers will face one of the course's toughest holes, the par-4 eighth. This tricky risk-reward hole has trouble everywhere, including tall pines, two water hazards, and bunkers. You can play it safe with a long iron or 3-wood down the right but you'll be facing an intimidating and long carry over wetlands.

Great value compared to other nearby courses
The natural is a beautiful course and was in great shape. Like many of the northern Michigan course the holes are all tree lined and sloped fairways, which makes the course challenging. However, the fairways are not so tight as to be too extreme.

The Natural at its finest
For those that play this course regularly know it just keeps getting better every year. The greens are plush except for a few dry cracked areas on maybe 2 of them. The fairways and roughs are some of the best turf I've seen here in years. No weeds anywhere. Tree removal has been steady recently to allow better growth and it shows. I love this course. I thought 45 was a bit steep on a twilight rate and I know peak is $62. Super tight, tree lined tee shots and approaches. A fine northern Michigan design.

Great course
FairwYs and greens in good condition. Best course at very reasonable price. Only complaint is range was shut down.

Course in good shape
After 36 hours of rain including drizzle in the morning, course was well drained. Greens were fast. A beautiful day. Course is not walkable, too many undulations .

Course looked good in the sunshine
After about 26 hours of rain, including in the morning, the course was drained well. Even though the greens were moist, they were fast. It's a challenging course, with tree lined fairways and undulation.

Value/Discounts
I have played this course at least 25 times or more in the past years. This course is part of a vacation destination for us and will include it in our courses to play. We have enjoyed the golf discounts and the package discounts of which we have taken advantage of both. However recently the only discounts they seem to offer are the play and stay packages. I would like to see some golf only discounts from time to time. I believe this would increase their course play as well as bring in new players to experience the course first hand.
Nice layout
Great layout and staff was phenomenal. Greens are showing major wear and many dead spots. Our group really likes the layout but the greens may have made the biggest impact.
I will probably return but many in our group were not happy with the conditions and said they wouldn’t return

Nice course - Good time
The course was well maintained and was a pretty open course. Our pace of play was slow because of a large group ahead of us, but everyone was friendly and made the best of it. It was a fun day for us!
Good course but terrible management play
I’ve played the natural course before. I had no issues as i was one of the only people on the course. Went and played again, there were probably 6-10 cars in the parking lot, but somehow took me 4 and a half almost 5 hours for 18 holes. I was a single riding with my girlfriend and neither of the two foursomes ahead of me let me play through. Nobody was paying attention to the pace of play and it was very frustrating. If u have anybody playing ahead of u, be prepared for a very long round at this course. Otherwise good conditions and challenging course.

Played back 9, pretty course, great greens, no waiting. Wish hole 18 didn’t swallow so many balls!

Upnorthlive golf card 2019
I recently called and set up a tee time for after 1:00 PM on Saturday like the golf card says to do .The lady answering the phone said I can get you out at 1:10 PM so my dad and I traveled over a hour to get to this establishment for the Lady at the counter to tell us they don't honor the upnorthlive card on Saturday only Sunday through Thursday. I asked why didn't you say something when I made a tee time it's over a hour drive over she said she would call a manager and find out . After calling the manager today 8/7/19 the lady at the counter didn't even call the manager. So after talking to the manager today she said the same thing they don't honor the upnorthlive card on Saturday. I said what about the hour drive. She said the same thing sorry for the inconvenience. There was only ten cars in the parking lot the kid taking care of carts was on his phone texting. They could of let us play but they were just being money hungry. I hope that other people realize that this place is all about the money and not about respect of the weekend warrior golfer trying to spend some time with his dad. I will not suggest this course to anyone I know it seems like its ran by women with a power trip .
