Bull Run Golf Club

I have played Bull Run a bunch of times and love the course. Today was a bad experience. First off, after paying $97 dollars and asking if balls were on the range, we were given the choice to spend $5 more for a small bag of balls. Just charge me $100 and give me a bag! Then, on the first tee we were told that it's cart path only. No rain in a week, but they are worried about carts on the course for some reason (it was 95 degrees too).

THEN, on the 4th green we were met with swarming wasps (100's of them). We called and were told to ignore them, since they are ground wasps and not dangerous. We had already skipped that green, but these bugs were on every green for the rest of the round.

Hey Greenskeeper, how about you take of the bug problem and let us drive on the course? Also, why not tell us about the wasps when we paid, so we would not have skipped a green. I will be back, but today was my worst experience on Bull Run to date and I hope it was an anomaly.

It's obvious that they put more care into the golf course these days. Conditions were great from tee to green. The 18th hole can be a problem because it's a reachable par 5 and it took us almost 25 minutes to play the hole and finish. Otherwise fair but challenging course with nice range, chipping and putting areas.

Always wanted to play this course and glad I did. Some holes require course knowledge ( like double fairways) and greens were a bit tricky. Great experience!

I am a member of another local course and will be playing this one again. It’s worth the money!!!

I like this course. However, the day we played the pace of game was terrible. We had to wait almost every hole. There was no marshal to control the pace of playing.

Course is in great shape. Greens rolled true, fairways are wide and in very good condition. Will definitely be back if I can catch another deal. Great course.

It was very hot and humid. I was even par on the front 9, then bogeyed every hole on the back 9. The cart girl kept us well hydrated with plenty of water. The course is challenging enough while remaining enjoyable. I’ll be back to play again to see if the back 9 woes were about the heat, the course or just me.

Have always loved this course. In previous years the greens were slow. Not today - running at a good speed. For those complaining about GolfNow or not getting the Raspberry Golf Trail rate, use your brain. Pick up the phone and call the course. Most will give you the GolfNow rate or close to it and you won't have to pay the surcharge GolfNow tacks onto the rate. Been doing that for the last 5 years.

One of the better courses in the metro DC area of beautiful countryside course up against Bull Run Mountain very pretty vistas and the homes that are on the course are spaced far enough away if you can get a deal on golf now well worth playing I’ve played here often on for years

Golfers should not be impacted by course’s financial agreement with GolfNow and who gets money for Hot Deal times. Low interest in customer satisfaction. Too bad short financial gain is more important than maintaining golfers playing their course for the long term. Disappointing.

Walking in between 2 somes in carts played in 3 hours. Greens are firm enough and rough is nice height for some penalty.

Bull Run is a fun course. You can often get a good rate and it's usually in good shape. If you're hitting your driver well, it's a course you can get after and score well. It is always an enjoyable round here.

Course did not honor our Raspberry Trail Membership Round because we made the reservation through GOLFNOW. Although the program rules state there is a qualifying rate for the round to count (and we paid OVER the qualifying rate), they explained their financial expense for their participation on GOLFNOW as the reason they could not honor the round. If their intent for using GOLFNOW was to market to new players, they just lost 4 future golfers!

It was hot but fun. The course is in great shape and played in under 3 and half hours walking. I will be back soon!

Buddy and I were suppose to tee off at 1520. We were over an hour early. They allowed us to tee off well before our tee time. Prior to teeing off, I got some food from the snack bar. Staff was very friendly! Keep up the great work!!
