About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

Bottle neck is a regular issue
Not a course to expect to have any regular pace of play. Slow, and (most of the time) grouchy players that always start on tee box 10 and bottle neck by 13. Only chance to speed up is if you pass them at the club house on the turn.

Nice course, but wish we could have turn the temp up and wind down Course was in great in every good shape. We will be back down to play again so day

Private course w/o the fees
I have been playing this course for years. I have been playing golf for 45 years. .This may not be the best course in Texas but it’s goit to be the one of the top three. The fairways and tea boxes are excellent and the greens are beyond description. They were probably running at a 12 or more which made it really fun.
We drive 110 miles to play Delaware Springs but it is totally worth it.

amazing condition
The course is in amazing condition. Only going from the 6th to the 7th was wonky. They are putting in roads for housing an you have go on the street to get from the 6th to 7th. Otherwise every tee box fair and green was in excellent condition.
