About
The Lago Vista Course is Lago Vista resort’s original track, designed by Leon Howard in the late 1960s and renovated by Dave Bennett in 1992. The golf course has four water holes, more than 40 bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Lago Vista is known for its demanding par 3s, which all go right at 200 yards. No. 10 is fun because it can be reached in two: a 495-yard par 5 with a creek that looms right.
Getting to Lago Vista: From Austin, take Hwy. 183 north to FM 1431, then turn west 11 miles. When you come to Lohmas Ford Rd. turn left and drive 3 miles, then turn right on Boggy Ford R. Veer to the right and follow the signs to the golf course.

Great day to play by myself!
Freshly fertilized I think cuz I smelled poop all day but Fairways and greens are getting better!

Course in not very good shape
Edges of greens were dirt-filled and bumpy. Fairways were very spotty - random patches of dirt. Looked like it hadnt been mowed in a few days. Greens had random spots of taller grass. Very bumpy.

Worst its been
I've been playing here over 30 years and current condition is worst I've ever seen. Zero grass in fairways and greens are dead and just dirt. Overseed for winter, water, put some care into greens....has been great there at times over the years but worst I've seen currently

Need to water around course and fix licking sprinkler heads. Beautiful view! Love to play here again...

Slow Play & Then Rushed
Played this course multiple times in the past; not the greatest course but plays well enough.
Got rushed by the Marshall today (I was a single) to hurry up...and yea had let a 5some out 2 groups in front of me!
Where do you want me to go Marshall? I’ll go to another course from now on.

Absolutely Pitiful
Giving this course 1 star is pushing it ! The fairways on have Weeds for grass, and the Greens, ugh, unputtable would be an understatement !! I haven’t seen greens that bad in over 40 years, and they have the odasity to charge $35 !!! Seriously ? What a waste of time, money, and Gas !! Never again.... it’s worse than Highland ever was, and that’s saying something. The Marshal blamed the conditions on the ice storm 2 months ago ! No other course in Austin area even comes close to these terrible conditions ! Put some water on your course for a change !!!!

The fairways were in bad shape. The greens were even worse. Will not be going back.

Terrible
Cannot give any stars to this course. Tee boxes are dirt, fairways are mostly dirt, greens were terrible. In the top 3 of all time worst courses seen.

Water
Green are TERRIBLE and the fairways need grass!
I wonder who is making the decision not to water this place.They are always busy so they must have the money needed to water.

The course is in horrible shape
The greens are in terrible shape. Mainly packed mud with sprigs of grass, holes are not cleanly cut and fairways are not well kept at all.

Friday golf
Course is in rough shape after the freeze. Looks like they lost most of their greens in the freeze and probably need lots of love sand and aerearion. Not really worth the $47 but it is convenient

Untimely choice
I play here a lot. It is beautiful. The new greens are great. Whole course is quite pleasurable to play. Until now! Horrible conditions! I won’t play lago again until i know it is back to normal. I am sure the conditions are temporary but it was not worth a penny to play there yesterday. See you soon, i hope

Course was in terrible condition.
Couse conditions were aweful. Tee boxes were uneven and patchy. The greens were dark grey with no living grass. Balls landing on greens left very few pitch marks due to lack of aeriation. Will not play this course again in the near future.

Lago vista
Unfortunately the course needs alot of TLC.
I'm sure the feezes and snow did not help matters at all.
I also noticed some private carts with all terrain tires, that style of tire will destoy the fairway grass, they should never be allowed on the course.
Maybe a few weeks of better weather will help bring the course back to life.
It's such a beautiful fun course to play when in great condition. Also never allow a 5 some, no exceptions. period.

Lago Vista
It was a 40 minute drive to get to this course
Initially thot we had a $17 rate but jumped to 37
Our two some was paired with two real gentlemen
Very nice to play
The beer cart gal was very nice and courteous
My partner who is much better than I am , did not care for the course especiall the lack of grass in the fairways
