About
The Lago Vista Course is Lago Vista resort’s original track, designed by Leon Howard in the late 1960s and renovated by Dave Bennett in 1992. The golf course has four water holes, more than 40 bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Lago Vista is known for its demanding par 3s, which all go right at 200 yards. No. 10 is fun because it can be reached in two: a 495-yard par 5 with a creek that looms right.
Getting to Lago Vista: From Austin, take Hwy. 183 north to FM 1431, then turn west 11 miles. When you come to Lohmas Ford Rd. turn left and drive 3 miles, then turn right on Boggy Ford R. Veer to the right and follow the signs to the golf course.

Burnt out greens and poorly maintained
This corse is in rough shape, needs some TLC. worth about half the price. Greens and fairways are in rough shape

Terrible fairways
The course conditions were terrible. The fairway grass was the lengths of what normal rough or out of bounds would be. We had to search to find our balls that were hit in the fairways. Hopefully this isn’t normal for the course. The greens were very patchy and had mounds of dirt on them.

Horrible condition
Course took a beating from cold winter. Basically lost every green. Seems they are starting to grow back, but average of about 60% coverage on greens, rest is sandy and all is bumpy. Fairways, well hesitate to call them that, let's just call it the area of the rough they cut shorter. Patchy and sparse, some areas grown in, but non of it actually looks like a real fairway. Then we add in apparently have no grounds crews, since debris from a storm a week ago still littered the course. Tree stumps and branches just sitting in middle of fairways. Used to like this course, but more like a cow pasture these days.

To say the greens are in terrible condition would be an understatement. I realize we had a freeze a couple of months ago, but many other courses are back and some prepared in advance and never lost their greens.

Freshly fertilized I think cuz I smelled poop all day but Fairways and greens are getting better!

Course in not very good shape
Edges of greens were dirt-filled and bumpy. Fairways were very spotty - random patches of dirt. Looked like it hadnt been mowed in a few days. Greens had random spots of taller grass. Very bumpy.

Worst its been
I've been playing here over 30 years and current condition is worst I've ever seen. Zero grass in fairways and greens are dead and just dirt. Overseed for winter, water, put some care into greens....has been great there at times over the years but worst I've seen currently

Slow Play & Then Rushed
Played this course multiple times in the past; not the greatest course but plays well enough.
Got rushed by the Marshall today (I was a single) to hurry up...and yea had let a 5some out 2 groups in front of me!
Where do you want me to go Marshall? I’ll go to another course from now on.

Absolutely Pitiful
Giving this course 1 star is pushing it ! The fairways on have Weeds for grass, and the Greens, ugh, unputtable would be an understatement !! I haven’t seen greens that bad in over 40 years, and they have the odasity to charge $35 !!! Seriously ? What a waste of time, money, and Gas !! Never again.... it’s worse than Highland ever was, and that’s saying something. The Marshal blamed the conditions on the ice storm 2 months ago ! No other course in Austin area even comes close to these terrible conditions ! Put some water on your course for a change !!!!

Terrible
Cannot give any stars to this course. Tee boxes are dirt, fairways are mostly dirt, greens were terrible. In the top 3 of all time worst courses seen.

Water
Green are TERRIBLE and the fairways need grass!
I wonder who is making the decision not to water this place.They are always busy so they must have the money needed to water.

The course is in horrible shape
The greens are in terrible shape. Mainly packed mud with sprigs of grass, holes are not cleanly cut and fairways are not well kept at all.

Friday golf
Course is in rough shape after the freeze. Looks like they lost most of their greens in the freeze and probably need lots of love sand and aerearion. Not really worth the $47 but it is convenient
