Lago Vista Golf Course

About
The Lago Vista Course is Lago Vista resort’s original track, designed by Leon Howard in the late 1960s and renovated by Dave Bennett in 1992. The golf course has four water holes, more than 40 bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Lago Vista is known for its demanding par 3s, which all go right at 200 yards. No. 10 is fun because it can be reached in two: a 495-yard par 5 with a creek that looms right.
Getting to Lago Vista: From Austin, take Hwy. 183 north to FM 1431, then turn west 11 miles. When you come to Lohmas Ford Rd. turn left and drive 3 miles, then turn right on Boggy Ford R. Veer to the right and follow the signs to the golf course.

what a difference
I last played here about 2 years ago...swore I would never play here again. Changed my tune and gave it a go. It's still not perfect, but it's playable start to finish and the improvements are noticeable. Glad I came back. I wouldnt' hesitate to play again.
A few rainstorms away from an Excellent course
Golf was great. First time to play the course. Some of the greens were great, others were patchy. The course just needs rain so the grass will grow everywhere. Most fairways were good. Often found myself with a hard pan lie.
Needs work on the greens but still nice.
The scenery is beautiful. Friendly staff but the greens and fairways need work
Interesting course but in rough shape
First time out to LVGC and I found the staff friendly, golf carts in good condition and the price decent. Unfortunately the condition of the fairways had me hitting off hardpan constantly (when in the middle of the fairway. The greens were in poor condition too with “sand traps” on almost all of them.
Not worth it
Fun if you don’t want to putt. Nice layout just no point even try and make any putts outside of 5 ft.
Could be a good course
The course view and surroundings are nice.
The course is in need of maintenance. Need some serious watering.
Tee boxes need work, lots of patches of dirt and sand. Greens are in need of help. Again, patches of sand.
With some serious course maintenance, this could be a wonderful course.
Horrible course conditions
And all the house had their trump signs out like a cult.
Great potential, but terrible course conditions
First time playing here and was excited as I drove in, but the course conditions are absolutely terrible. The course itself has a ton of potential to be amazing, but everything from greens to tee boxes to fairways is just bad. I was paired up with some locals that have been playing there for years and they said they keep hearing things will get better, but they haven’t.
Good course
It was a good course. Good elevation changes and challenges throughout. Went midday on a Friday and was not backed up at all.
Layout and Staff make this a ok course.
The layout and staff make this course a 3 star course. The greens had sand traps on them. The fairways were hit and miss. I know the area is under water restrictions right now but dang…..the greens were bad. But for 50.00 it wasn’t a horrible day.
Cart girl/bar staff/kitchen was all excellent.
Dry & Rough Greens
The course has the feel of the Hill Country and is a great option. However, the course is very dry and the greens are very rough. This course has a lot of potential but NEEDS a lot of daily water. Tough course with poor greens and blind shots.
All But the Greens
I'd really enjoy this course if it was kept in a little bit better shape. The greens have sand traps in them and bumps all over. The tee boxes were a little overgrown but that was probably due to the recent rain. If the greens were any better, this would be my go to course.
