Lago Vista Golf Course

I've played this course around a dozen times. The fairways are nice, some of the vies are picturesque and the staff is always friendly. There are a couple of gorgeous views of the lake from the fairway and the course is wide open.

I plan on playing this course for years to come!

The course layout is the best part of the course. There are some really fun and challenging holes out there.. Unfortunately the course conditions hold it back from living up to it's full potential. The fairways were really in need of reseeding and in a lot of the areas they were in desperate need of watering. The greens also need to be reseeded badly. The clubhouse and restaurant need to be completely gutted and remodeled. While the folks who worked there were OK but not overly accommodating.

Well maintained, several challenging hills, forced drives over water features, blind hole fairways, etc. Very nice grill with excellent food to enjoy after your round. A gem in Lago Vista.

Fantastic value for the money but needs some serious care. It is very evident that it has had years of neglect.

Many of the greens and fairways are in bad shape. There are a few greens with large areas of only dirt that washes away when it rains. It seems they lack proper irrigation and when it rains, the water does more damage than it should. The fairways adn all other areas in general would benefit from regular maintenance. The cart paths are poor or non existent in many areas. Andd why not have the fountain on the 14 th hole on during the day?! How hard is it to adjust the timer?

The views are fantastic though and make for a very enjoyable round of golf. The entire staff is friendly and the service and food at the LV Golf Course Grill are great!

the course is a great lay out. A lot of fun holes that make you think before you swing. I really enjoyed that part. Unfortunately, course conditions are in need of work. The greens were in poor shape and probably need to be reseeded and the fairways were in rough shape as well. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would like to play the course again but after some major renovations take place.

This is one of those courses that has all the makings of what could be an awesome regular round, but unfortunately there is one major issue. The course is VERY poorly kept. I like the layout, the people there are friendly, the drive from Austin to this course is nice, it's outside of the city so pace of play is great, but the fairways and greens are some of the worst I have seen.

The greens were basically dirt in a lot of areas and the fairways were about the same. All crab grass that was brown and yellow. Now I know, it's hard to keep conditions during this part of the year, but I played 2 more courses this weekend and both were relatively green and fluffy.

I WILL probably play here again because I enjoy the drive, the price, and the views on the course, but wow could this place be awesome if they gave it some love.

Very nice, moderately challenging course. The course is about as well kept as one could expect in Texas at this time of year. The fairways and greens were nice except in a few areas of repair. Overall, it is a very nice course - especially if you can find a discounted tee time on Golf Now.com. I expect I will return to play another round in the near future.

It started off to be a good round, I was asked to play with another guy, which was no big deal but then I find out 2 more guys are coming and they're late. I arrived early and had to wait 30 minutes to finally start. I know the gentleman who sets the tee times was just trying to do his job but I didn't have extra time for someone else to be late. Not a good time.

Course was in fair shape. Good lies in the fairways were hard to find. Low price made it worthwhile.

Fairways are in great shape, make sure you stay in the fairway. Plenty of sand traps, makes you think about your approach shots. Greens need some help, too many of them are bald. Not completely but still....The terrain is hilly, you will be challenged where to aim for a level stance and lie plus trees loom in the fairway.

Even for $15 you don't want to play a course in these conditions. Looked like they hadn't mowed in week. Hard to find the ball in the middle of the fairway.

I play this course regularly. It's a good municipal course. It's certainly not lush, but for the price it pretty good. Pace of play is usually quite good. A few of the holes have wonderful views of the lake, and you will constantly see deer EVERYWHERE. The grill and clubhouse are pretty average, but this is not a private course and the price is pretty competitive.

Coarse was in good shape. A few greens had a few spots ondee repair but did not interfere with play. Staff was awesome and the food at snack bar was great. Will be returning soon.

Felt bad giving this course only 4 stars, actually. It was pretty, fun to play, challenging in just the right measure, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. However, the conditions were just not good enough to merit that extra star. The fairways were weedy and inconsistent, virtually none of the tee boxes were level (a big no-no, IMO), and the greens were a mess. The ball jumped and wobbled so much on the way to the hole it was impossible to know if you hit it with the right line or speed. Still, I’d play it again for sure. Really great layout, which let you bomb it once in a while but forced you to really ponder your targets and club selection. There are a few holes (9, 10, 16) I’m dying to play again. The views were stunning and the price was more than right. Awesome value.

Course is in great shape except for a few holes that the greens have spots with no grass. They are working on it. Fairways are looking great, people actually fix divots, greats rates during the week. Now that Highland Lakes is closed, this course is just as challenging and worth the drive.

This has been my home course for 30 years although i play mostly on public courses in Austin. It's just a cool layout with many great lake views and tons of deer. My wife and I teed off at 1 on a beautiful sunny 75 degree week day and didn't see another golfer the whole round. We had mostly good greens with maybe 3 or 4 greens with some chewed up areas on the edges with pins placed away from those areas. Fairways a little long but still summer weather so expect them that way. I've never improved my lie my whole life but i've decided that if i hit it in the fairway i should get a good lie just like the pros----so i move ball if i need to which is often the case on the publics. At the Lago Vista course conditions are always about average--- up and down a little. The companion course to this course was Highland Lakes and it just closed so maybe this one city owned course will get a little more attention. Unless you are single digit play the whites, especially first time-----you'll have a lot more fun. This is a fun course. Go to 19th hole at The Grille at Highland Lakes----really nice bar, outside area, and great food. Short drive from Lago course

I played it last year and was not overly thrilled with the conditions. Gave it another try and really enjoyed it. The conditions are much improved. It is a fun course with a variety of holes that require you to make decisions. Would definitely recommend this course to everyone.

First of all the staff here makes you feel welcome. The course layout and views were amazing, but I couldn't tell the fairway from the rough. I know we've been hit hard with bad weather lately but it was a tough round with the conditions.
