The Ravines Golf Club

About
Ravines Golf Club is southwest Michigan's first Arnold Palmer signature course. The course is situated three hours outside of Detroit in Saugatuck. Thanks to wide fairways and generous landing areas, the layout is not as tough as it seems but it does have plenty of challenges in store. Strategically placed bunkers, mature trees, and wetlands all come into play throughout. There are some challenging holes on the front half, including the sixth and seventh, but the back nine opens with the golf course's toughest hole. The ninth is a long and difficult par 5 dogleg left where trees, water, and bunkers come into play. Ravines Golf Club's signature hole, though, is the par-3 17th, known for both its scenery and level of difficulty. This hole requires a risky shot over a ravine to one of the golf course's largest putting surfaces.

Challenging par 5 - tee shot over the ravine Photo submitted by u00000638985 on 06/03/2013
Western Michigan gem
This was our first visit to this Arnold Palmer designed course. There are a number of forced carries due to the ravines that crisscross the property. The sight lines are gorgeous. The course conditions were excellent. The staff could not be nicer.
While it is a great course to play. The price has gotten pretty high. I don’t mind spending money on nice courses and only get to play this about 2 a summer but it’s super aggravating when you pay $89 dollars to play at 7:30 am on Sunday and the greens don’t get mowed. It seems like a Arnie course would be held to a higher standard
Hidden Gem
Always seems to be light traffic and it's a gorgeous track.
Wonderful course hidden in West Michigan
The Ravines has a northern Michigan feel with many holes surrounded by hardwoods forest. It is very playable with generous fairways and some forced carries. There are a number of tee options that can provide a challenge for every level of player. Afternoon and senior rates make this course a bargain for a course of this quality.
Beautiful Course and Surroundings
Excellent course, right from the cart boys helping with bags and the course. Easy check-in. The course was in excellent condition. You need to exactly what's in front of you, several layups were required. Will return!
Had heard about the course from people who played it last year and while an hour away from Kalamazoo, it was on my list of courses to play this year. Definitely worth the trip and will certainly play it again soon.
