Second shot, putting for Par, Hole 16 Photo submitted by don4brick on 04/10/2013
Narrow par 3
A bit pricey for an Exec course. Very narrow, but challenging.
Ole Emerl, always a good time.
Ole Emerl is always a good time. Painfully slow sometimes when they cram everyone in but for the money it's money.
A quick fun par three with two par fours
Nice short course with many different looks over water. Great short iron practice.
Fun for the money
Great for short game with time restrictions. Executive Course.
a good chip and putt course
play was slow greens where just irradiated made it hard to putt fairways and tee boxes need attention
not what i remembered!!
use to play this course when i was a kid. it went down hill, wont be going back.
Slow play
Because it is a public course, play can be slow, although they did have a Marshall. The first nine was slow but the back nine went nicely. Course is OK, greens were actually good, fairways need some work.
Fun course for a 'skins game'
I enjoy playing at The Isle because its a fun course to go play your buddies for money! Every hole is reachable, even for beginners like most friends. Makes for a great time!
marshall was terrible
the marshall was more interested in selling beer than keeping flow of play.
a threesome of guys who took over 20 minutes a hole backed up the entire course. at least 3 groups went around the super slow threesome and ended up not playing the full 18 because they had to jump around the course. meanwhile the marshall just sold beer to everyone who was backed up, WHEN he should have been making the threesome keep pace.
also before teeing off at hole 1, some old guy tries selling us golf balls for 25 cents each and wants to chat for as long as possible. i thought he was scheduled to make our group a foursome, but no, he works at course and is just there to sell golfballs and tries to find out if you can hook him up with a good deal on a golf club. ugh... never going back.
fun but kind of annoying
we were having a great time until hole 9 when the Marshall had nothing better to do then find something to yell at us about how having 1 set of clubs with just the two of us would slow everyone down when in fact 3 people ahead of us with 3 clubs slowed us down. The Marshall kept bothering us afterwards. Everyone else was friendly though. Fields other than the greens were in poor condition
Challenging little course,...
I play fairly regular here at Emerald Isle.
Tuesday 4.09.13 they were sanding the greens - the day I choose to play. ...so that presented some challenges.
I've made some spectacular second shots, and the course is forgiving in that regard. I like that most holes are fairly easy, but don't be fooled, as that simplicity may lull you into missing a perfect shot tee shot to hit the green.
Working on breaking 70 here, but have a 73, and 72,..so I'm close. I wish more younger ladies would play. hahaha...
this course is a convenient location
this is very challenging to the moderate player. It has water hazards and O.B. and the green are always in excellent conditions with lots of breaks.
like any course it has its goods and bads.
When I don't have time to play a big course or want to practice my short game, I enjoy playing here. I'm glad they got on golf now. I keep going back because some holes are real challenging and I need to at least Birdie every hole once. I'm two thirds of the way there. Plus the staff there is all very friendly. Keeps me going back.
Great course for the price
This was a great executive course to play. It had challenging drives over lakes and I enjoyed the tight lay out. Forced to hit straight. I will come back.
Great course!!!
This course is perfect for working on your short game. I will play again!!
displays unique greens
Great pace and value for money, Nice to have a range for a executive course.
Great value...hidden jewel in OC.
Inspite of the rain, course was well maintained and ready for business. The greens were well-drained and putted great. Staff was very professional and willing to assist in making recommendations for the course. Great job!
Fun short course to work on your irons and putting.
Course overall not in the greatest shape, but in terms of value for the money and not taking up a lot of your day (we played it in 2 hours), the course demands a lot of different shots (including 6 or 7 over water shots), has greens that are in good shape and really test your green reading ability with a lot of break, slope, etc., I'd recommend it to anyone that wants to work on their short game.
this course is a small but yet have some good challenges. very fun to play at.
I think this course is perfect for your long and short game on your irons. Fun course to play at and you have to be straight on or other wise you'll be adding unnecessary strokes. Have fun
