Eighteen at Bing Maloney Golf Course
About
Bing Maloney in Sacramento offers both an 18-hole championship golf course an executive nine-hole course known as the Express 9, since you can play it in less than an hour. The 18-hole course has a traditional design with short par 5s and par 3s. Mature oak trees line the fairways and the sloped greens will test your short game skills. There are some interesting hole configurations and a fair amount of challenges, but the golf course is straightforward with no gimmicks or trick holes. You'll encounter various types of rough that can make you lose sight of your ball, but there is only one water hazard throughout the entire golf course. It comes into play on the memorable par-3 third hole, which requires a shot over water to a small green flanked with bunkers to both the right and left.

wide fairways!
I liked the wide fairways but don't miss them. Deep deep grass if you miss. I will definitely play there again.
Ok for short game
City course, not the greatest but Ok for senior walking. Twilight 9 hole price only $8 as cheap as driving range.
Great Municipal Course
Bing Maloney is one of the oldest golf courses in the Sacramento Valley and is designed with raised greens, lots of sand, and narrow fairways. All aspects of the course are well maintained including the greens and bunkers. Pace of play is pretty good for how many people play there on a weekend and if you are a single the other golfers are usually very friendly. There is also an excellent 9 hole course that is great for working on the short game.
Course was fair and fun
I had not playing Bing for over 10 years and enjoyed the round very much
Neighborhood Golf Course, Good Deal!
I like this course, it's a Sacramento standard. Lots of trees, big ones, give the course character. Usually fairly pricey for an older muni course, but the GolfNow deal for veteran's day was great, at the low price of $22. Now I said a lot of things were good, but that is based on all my experiences here. The greens on this day were faster than normal, and were in great condition even though many of them had a lot of tree debis on them (typical of this course). The two sandtraps I got into today were almost worth hitting into, the condition of the sand was so perfect. Had a good day so can't complain.
Excellent
Muy bueno nice course clean nice greens nice people!
Most Improved Course - Best Bang For Your Buck
This place is fantastic. I've played Bing for years and the last couple years they have really made this course great. Years ago Bing was in dire need of a makeover. Thankfully Bing got the attention she needs. The greens and fairways are awesome and lend themselves to fast rounds. The rough isn't so tough that you can't hit out of it so this helps with speeding up the rounds. The only thing I would ask is for the traps to have better sand. The most impressive part of Bing is the price for 18 holes. $26 is fantastic for a track in this good shape. Thanks to Rick, Brian, Jay-Won, and all the Marshall's and gals in the clubshouse. These people are fun to talk with and best of all they know how to treat people. This place is the Snizzle!
I found a new place to play!
The 18 hole course is a nice place to play. The staff is friendly and the fairways are fairly wide open. Par here is very doable and bogies are virtually effortless. The course was in better shape than I imagined it would be, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I usually play at Cordova Golf Course, but for a few more dollars... Bing Maloney is a far better deal in my opinion!
I'll definitely be grippin it and rippin it here again really soon!
greens are very consistent
Very wide open fairways and usually reachable greens on 2nd shot.Very friendly fellow golf mates indeed.
Not Recommended
Bad shape all around, Marshal did not do a proper job, did not finish due to very slow play. Will not play this course again.
Nice Course
This course is pretty nice with some challenging holes. There are no water hazards except on a par 3 and you would have to try hard to get it into the water. The pace of play is slow as this course seemed really busy. You won't lose a ball as the fairways are really large and forgiving. It is a nice beginners course that still offers a good challenge.
Sharpen your short game!
This 9-hole course is great to get your short game back on track. The pace of play can be done in an hour, which is great for quick outing. Greens are in excellent condition which is needed to regain confidence for next play on a 18 hole course.
I would recommend for other players.
Along with a players card, you can play all day with just one green fee!
Only items that needs to be changed is an earlier tee times, from Golf Now, for this course.
Nice course, can play several times within the same day.
Very cheap, but very crowded too. Nice course, can play several times within the same day. A good course for beginners and also for practice your short games.
The course has a fun 12th signature hole I believe
The course has open fairways, not too many hazards. Greens are fun and fair. Have fun and hit the easy and long!!!
Low end of Munis around.
This place is not bad if you are desperate to play golf and don't want to spend more money. Greens are slight above average but the rest of the course is trashed and barely maintained. Crab grass everywhere, dried and patchy on some areas, and the tee box is one of the worst around. Sand bunkers dont have sand and its hard. Staff are unprofessional and not very friendly. They don't go out of their way to greet you and make you feel appreciated. This place is worth no more than $10 a round walking. Management I think don't care and it shows. I will only play or recommend when the price falls below $10. Again, that's 4-5 hrs. of your life you'll never get back. You can spend it on a golf course that's worth your time. A place you feel good about when you leave and can't wait to come back again. This place you want to forget the moment you step back inside your car. Honest opinion here, sorry.
Additional Information
I gave my opinion about Bing Maloney. I just wanted to add that I played the championship course both days and not the 9 hole express course.
A really fun course
This is a very flat course. The fairways are lined with tall mature trees and most are comfortably wide for the average golfer. Tee to green is well maintained. Four of the greens really stood out because I found it impossible to read or even see the breaks on those greens. This is a fun course that can be conducive to low scores all the while demanding the use of every club in your bag. As a final thought, use a de-lofted club when chipping around the green to ensure you make it close to the pin.
Bing is fun to play
I had not played Bing in about thirty years. I moved to Fair Oaks and just never went back. I got a deal on Golf Now and gave Bing a try, I'm glad I did. The course hasn't changed much and is easy to score low if you don't get in trouble. Playing on weekdays makes it easy to get around fairly quick. Give it a try.
The course was in great shape
I hadn't played this course in years and was very pleased with the upgrades and overall maintenance of the fairways and greens. The pace of play was adequate and we finished in a little over 4 hours but could have finished sooner if we didn't have to look for lost balls! The staff, with the exception of one gentleman in the pro shop, was very friendly and courteous. It's not an overly tough course but some holes did provide enough challenge to make the round interesting. I definitely will be back.
