Golfer Reviews
Such a fun course!
We happened upon this course using Golf Now and were so pleasantly surprised!! The staff was so friendly and we were on the course promptly at our scheduled tee time. The pace of play was perfect...not rushing the group ahead of us and we weren’t rushed from behind.
The course was well taken care of and so beautiful.
We have found a treasure and will definitely be back!!
Sneaky tricky / Fun / Work to do / Tight / Affordable
Morning started off pretty cool for end of summer conditions at 55° at 8 ish am. By the time we were done, it was about 95° and the sun was definitely settling in for the day.
Considering covid, the place in general could use a tidy up. Tons of neglect from the office (beer boxes on floor, dust in corners of ceiling, cob webs, and just not presentable). A fair bit of neglect on the sun baked course with a ton of traffic running through it with little upkeep from the grounds crew. Greens are softish but damaged and a bit diseased on some.
Tee boxes are pretty uneven and should be leveled. Bunkers never raked but, we went out earlier in the day.
I didn’t see more than one grounds keeper or green crew guy. That has to change. The starter and marshal were really happy and fun guys. Never caught their names but, you can tell they love to play and believe the place can be good again.
I can say I’ll probably come back some day because it’s not an overly hard front 9, followed by a very narrow 10-12, and some more technical / fun holes on the back. It’s a fun place to play.
Long story short, you can tell this place had its golden days a few years back. It has opportunity to be one of the better courses in Escondido with stiff competition all around.
I’ll be back.
Nicest Executive Course in San Diego
If you looking for a fun and quick 18 to walk this is the course for you. Lomas Santa Fe is one of my favorite executive golf courses ever played. The only improvement I would make is improving the tee boxes which have been overplayed and not replanted.
Great executive
Leave the driver at home, short game / short iron practice... greens are pure along with the fairways... can get backed up in the afternoons, very walkable... made my first ever hole in one here on 17 ;). ( 0 handicaper )... no range, simple easy and in good shape
Great for beginners
Golf course was in pristine condition. Soft & receptive greens. Well manicured. But for anyone who plays here, please PLEASE please fix your ball mark & at least 1 other.
Get your short game n 2nd shot dialed
Great staff, simple clubhouse layout with 2 rules, cover your face and be nice. The course plays beautifully., requiring strategic shots to various green elevations and pin locations. If you miss your shot shape, the greenside rough is long enough to challenge you but short enough not to break your spirits. Great course for both beginner and scratch golfers alike. Plays anywhere from 2-3hrs and with the optional players club card, costs less than lunch during the week.
Fun course for a decent price
This was a nice little executive course. The tee boxes were a little rough but the fairway and greens were in decent condition. The pace of play was a little slow but we weren't left waiting too long. There aren't too many places to lose balls so that's good! It's a very walkable course and we finished the round in about 3 hours. I would definitely come back.
Open Practice putting with social distancing!!!
I love this executive course for the most part. However, Practice putting needs to open back up! Most courses are allowIng. Tee boxes are very poor with crab grass and sand.
Grass conditions not well kept
Pros:
- most of fairways section is well kept
- putting green section mostly well kept
Cons:
- nearly all tee off sections were in bad shape. Some parts had a bunch of crab grass and some parts were basically dirt
- many sections off the cart path were large puddles of mud
Wouldn’t play here again for a par 54 at this cost. And I even got the hot deal walk rate! Not a good value play here.
Great starter track
Rancho Santa Fe Executive
Nice little track with well manicured greens and elevation changes but not too hard for anyone to walk. Friendly staff. We’ll definitely be back soon.
Lomas

Twilight golf
Friendly staff! Easy booking. Great course and fast smooth greens.
