Harmony Golf Preserve

I have played here once before. I live in the area. When I played the first time, I thought I found a hidden gem. The conditions were great and overall it was a great day. I played there last Sunday, the conditions were far different from the previous time I played.

The best thing the course had going was the roll on the greens. They were very true when it comes to actually putting. They were EXTREMELY soft though. Multiple approach shots were plugged into the green halfway down the ball. When I went to repair the ball mark, I ended up doing more damage to the green as it just peeled up surrounding areas so easily.

The fairways were so bad. There were some spots that were ok, but it looks like they stopped taking care of them entirely. Burnt, bare, dirt everywhere, very bad.

The tee boxes were some of the worst I've ever seen. Weeds everywhere, bare spots, not cut, etc.

I am not sure if management was changed or the community cut their budget on golf course maintenance, but there was a CLEAR difference in the conditions over about a years time.

I will come back, but will make sure to read reviews before going.

Played on 7/9 and course conditions were awful the fairways were over taken by crab grass. You bomb one down the middle and you’re rewarded by awful lies and weeds. The rough while it’s supose to be rough should be at least trimmed occasionally. Shame what happened to this beautiful course!!

the greens were great but fairways need work theres no ice except in the pro shop no gps in the carts.the only water on the course was in the bathrooms

Course is getting in pretty rough shape on the fairways and greens.

Honestly, this course holds a special place in my heart. During COVID it was one of the only bastions of normalcy my friends and I ever had.

Unfortunately after the pandemic subsided so did the conditions of the course. We waited for years and finally the reviews indicated it was back in shape.

This course has the potential of being one of the premier public courses in central Florida. Unfortunately, the current management has neglected the potential.

The reason for me to be compelled to write a negative review is due to the following:

1- poor & negative service. We entered the golf course to realize that the restaurant and bar is currently closed. Additionally, the club does not offer its guest fresh water. Only ice and tap from the public restrooms… gross.

2- Poor Tee boxes- they are uneven, and bare.

3. Fairways are dry, lacks grass, & dollarweed and clover has taken over.

4. Greens- although they are lush, they were very soft. Balls were inbedded almost every approach shot.

5. Value- they are charging a premium considering the conditions of the course and time of year.

For a golfer looking to travel more than 25 minutes to play a round I would avoid this completely.

Swing em straight.

The greens are in great shape however the fairways tend to have weeds in the summer due to the rules on chemical use in the wildlife areas. Still challenging and fun to play.

I love this course and as a novice it provides more than enough challenges but enough space for me to work on my game. The only “need” is for new restauranteur to lease the tavern space and open the bar :)

Always a good experience at Harmony Golf Preserve. Awesome layout, good conditions; would be excellent minus a few bald spots in a fairway or two, pace of play outstanding, great scenery and calming and serene environment Management here knows how to run a golf course. No need for excess personnel roaming about.

Course is in great condition, greens fantastic.

Range and practice areas stellar.

Staff was very helpful and friendly.

I’ll be back!

They need to invest more in course conditions, or fire the greens keeper or management.

This course has the potential to be great. The layout is fun and challenging for everyone. They did remove a lot of Johnny Miller's designed bunkers, so you really can't get in a good deal of trouble. The greens were in above average shape even though there is goose grass weeds on them. If you play later in the day, they might be bumpy. The tees and the fairways need work. It can be disheartening to stripe a shot and be penalized in the middle of the fairways. The last thing I would say is that the price is way too high for the conditions. See if you can get a better deal. But I would play it again if they fix fairways. It is always a joy to play here. The course is long and fun for all levels. They have installed new tees for the 55+ community that make it fun for families as well as those who just don't hit as far as they used to. Florida weather can cause some problems from time to time, as in all Florida courses, but the course drains quickly. What is so very special about this course, aside from the great staff, is that it is a nature preserve. I have seen hawks, bald eagle, baby sandhill cranes, wide turkeys, herons, egrets, turtles, armadillos, deer, alligators, just look around at the scenery!

Greens and fairways were in good shape. Tee boxes on the other hand, not so much. We just found and area near the tee boxes to tee off from.

This course has zero appeal to anyone familiar with public or daily fee golf. There is only ONE place to obtain drinking water on the course and it’s located in the Golf Shop where you pay your greens fee. It’s Central Florida?

The conditions are substandard from the tee box to the greens (alright it’s public daily fee golf) but again there is NO drinking water or a cart girl on a regular basis.

The fee is 30%-40% to high year round for what you have to put up with.

Not worth the effort or time.
