#13 fairway, long and wide. Ignore the brown grass in the foreground - the fairways are lush enough to hit fairway woods on the par 5s with ease. Photo submitted by Buckleahy on 02/23/2013

Way too wet
Sunday morning made for an interesting round, but not exactly in a good way. The greens are in good shape, with only a patch or 2 throughout the course, mainly on the edge of a couple greens. They rolled fast and true, so you did have ro mind your speed. The main problem was the course is way too wet. The greens were so soft, that you left footprints with every step, and crouching to line up your putts left lasting depressions in the green. The rough was thick and lush, which actually was quite nice, as the ball didn't sink all the way down. The fairways were basically mud, however. In trying to make sure the overseed takes, they have severely over-watered the course. Even with the prior weeks rain, other courses close by were much drier and firmer. You will not get any roll at all in the fairways, so plan on the course playing 500-600 yards further than the card. You can tell the staff is really trying to make a very nice course, but they need to back off the water for a little while.
In great shape
It's been a couple of years since I played NS, and I'm glad I went back. I was very impressed with course conditions. Fairways were a little spongy in spots due to recent rains (I even had one drive plug), but definitely playable. Greens rolled very well and fairly fast. The overseeding has taken nicely, and the entire course was a pretty green. The practice area is very well maintained and extensive, and the carts are virtually new. There is a large, well-stocked pro shop and a nice bar, and everyone that I spoke with was very friendly, including the beverage cart girl. The guy in the pro shop even let me know that the online rates on their site and on GN were better than their walk-in rate, so I jumped on GN and got a good rate, especially for this time of year.
Sooo nice!
My wife and I really enjoy North Shore everytime we have a chance to play it at…a reasonable price ($53 this time on a Saturday; booked 2 hours ahead of our teetime. $100 for non-Fl residents 2 days later, a Monday?!? Why?). Except for #7 and #9 (2 par fives with water on the right off the tee), no 2 holes are alike. Some are wide open while others are really tight. If you pick the proper tee box for you, you’ll likely enjoy this course. Starting time was 11:50 on a Saturday and we were done within 3 hours and 45 min…which would be different during peak season!
Hidden gem
North Shore, is a hidden gem of a golf course. Real friendly and helpful staff. , good challenging golf course for all levels and the greens were in good shape. The girl bringing the on course drinks was nice , friendly and courteous , as we the girls behind the bar. Overall well worth the visit you won’t be disappointed.
Gem!
Why is this the 1st time I've played here? This course is
Very nice. Great layout, Greens, Tees and Fairways are in really good shape. Clubhouse has a great selection of merchandise. I'd recommend this course to any of my friends.
Best condition in months. Greens were perfect. Course was recently overseeded so the fairways are wet due to watering so you will not get much roll. But the tees are good, fairways have plenty of grass without any bare spots, the rough is just thick enough to be penal but not so thick that you can’t find your ball. At the Fla resident rate - now is the time to play.
