North Shore Golf Course
About
The 18-hole North Shore Golf Club in Orlando, Florida is a semi-private golf course that opened in 2001. The course slides around lakes and wetlands, and then detours through a grove of large ancient oak trees before re-emerging into the clear at the finish. It has two distinct nines converging to form one remarkable 18-hole layout. Begin your round on the Modern nine, winding through native wetlands and Florida's natural topography. The Classic nine is carved through a grove of 100-year old oak trees, creating an enjoyably unique setting for your finishing holes. North Shore Golf Club is located less than 10 minutes from Orlando International Airport and offers a complete practice facility and world-class instruction.

#13 fairway, long and wide. Ignore the brown grass in the foreground - the fairways are lush enough to hit fairway woods on the par 5s with ease. Photo submitted by Buckleahy on 02/23/2013

A Good Day at North Shore
It had been a while since I last played at North Shore; the course is in great shape, and pace of play was spot on. I won't hesitate to go back.
Course condition
This course is always hit or miss. It does not drain well and if it rains any amount, the course will be cart path only and soaking wet. Yesterday we were met with cart path only and the greens were sanded. We were the only group on the course that we could see at 2pm. The course was soaking wet and more than half of the greens had some sort of issue, with either a fungus, patches or just burnt out on the edges. I always say this course is worth $50, but no more than $70 max. It is definitely not worth the $120-$139 dollar range that they will be asking in the next month or so.
Greens sanded today
Course is in descent shape, but greens were just sanded today. Several of the greens were in very rough shape prior to sanding, hopefully this will help out some. As always though, course is fun to play, and price is right. Staff is great and as usual got done in under 3.5 hrs.
Friendly staff snd challenging course
The staff are always great. Very friendly, helpful and make you feel welcome every time.
The course is a great layout with the two nines playing very differently. The front nine has an open parkland resort feel while the back nine has a Carolina low country vibe. It makes for a unique experience.
I have played the course often and conditions are a bit rough. Some greens damaged, some fairways ripped up by carts out on soft ground and some tees on the bare side. Seems to be caused by all the recent rain in Orlando area. Usually the course is in great shape but it is still playable
Overall a favorite of mine in central Florida.
Some Weeds in the fairway, some greens have bare spots.
Owner was rude and condescending
I will not support and spend money in a place where I’m treated badly by the owner. I’ve been told by others that he was a miserable person but I have never personally had an encounter with him until today. I will take my buisness elsewhere.
Poor Course Conditions
The course charges $75 for a round of golf. The course was not in good shape at all. Several areas on greens were missing turf. Pace of play was not adequate, there was no ranger on the course either. I would not recommend this course under current conditions. This course has been in great shape before but had fallen downhill in recent months. Will check back in 6 months to see if conditions have changed.
The course is almost unplayable currently. Water has come out of the hazard areas and into the rough and fairways. Lost 3 balls in our group that plugged in fairways and could not be found. Greens are spotty and seem to be having fungus issues.Grass is overgrown due to the amount of water and the course not being able to mow areas. Great course that I enjoy but I think it may be a year before it bounces back.
Yikes
Pros: Everyone on staff is great. Nice new carts.
This is my "home" course, if I had one. I play here a lot and have for many years. The course runs hot and cold with conditions.
North Shore is in the worst shape I've ever seen it. Yes, we've had rain, but every green has a serious issue. Back nine probably shouldn't be open. The greens are borderline unplayable. Plinko putting. Sand spots, pock marks like a teenager with bad acne. Traps are concrete. Not sure what they were thinking with the trap short left of the 2nd green, but it is more of a low tide washout.
It is a shame because NS could be so good, but I'm gonna take a break and see other courses for now.
Slipping a bit
We've been playing here off and on for 10 plus years. The layout and people a great, but the course conditions are slipping. All the greens have multitudes of dead spots, ranging from golfball size to softball sized, I've never seen greens look like this anywhere, it's weird and definitely affects putting. Tee boxes are almost all in bad shape, thin grass and lots of sand/bare ground. Fairways are good. Some bunkers have good sand, some seem to have transition to sand/dirt combo.
Terrible condition - DO NOT PLAY
North shore is usually in decent shape and the greens are usually good. This was the worst I’ve ever seen it. Terrible shape, every green was in poor condition, it was a joke to pay $75 to play here. So disappointed, go play somewhere else, they let this place go to crap. Sad to see. They don’t even have a decent practice area now.
