Drove 40 minutes for this!
The condition has improved from my last visit. The front 9 tee boxes overgrown, fairways bare spots and ruts and bunkers mud, standing water or hardpan overall in poor condition. the greens are in good condition.
The back nine is in slightly better condition.
The carts have GPS which shuts the cart off without warning. The green directional diagram is a nice feature. The woman in charge of the snack bar is a total B-tch, I witnessed her being very rude to the people my group over a scoop of ice and some men having lunch requesting some lemon.
Not bad for the money
Ok, it's not Pebble Beach, but its got some great views and a decent layout with some fun holes. Just don't expect any amenities, but hey you get what you pay for right?
Hemet is a gem
This place is underrated. The conditions are pretty good, but they seem to be improving over the last few visits. The greens are large and interesting and always in good condition.
The course doesn't play overly difficult but does require some strategy and thought. It's not a bomb-and-chip course.
The carts are brand new and always clean. The staff is super friendly, and the food is good.
Pace has always been pretty solid, with rounds ranging from 3.5 hours to 4.5 hours on the few times I've been here.
For the money, you aren't going to find a better place in SoCal.
Lived in Hemit for 17 years
People are writing false reviews about this course. It is not in that good of shape there’s no sand in the traps. The greens are the only good thing about the course.
VERY nice course for the money!
The team at Hemet Golf Club is doing a good job of improving this course. Most fairways are in better condition compared to the last couple years at this point. The greens are better than most of the courses in the Inland Empire. The layout and views are both very nice. There are still some brown patches on most fairways and a few tee boxes definitely need improvement but the price ($28.99 Hot Deal) definitely makes it the best value around.
Hemet “National” Golf Course
My drive to Hemet is 70 miles each way, that should tell you some thing about the course. It’s got a great layout, and the pace of play is usually excellent! Greens are always good and the staff is very friendly! Only drawback are the bunkers (can be very inconsistent). I definitely recommend Hemet “National”, if you’ve never played there!
Nice course and conditions
I've been playing this course 2 - 3 times a month for about 4 years. The new owners are investing in improvements and it definitely shows. The greens have always been among the better greens in the area and now the fairways are showing a great deal of improvement. In the past some of the fairways were in poor condition but now they are starting to show the investment the owners are making in fertilizing, watering, etc. This course is one of the best values around for the money.
The manager and pro shop help was trying to tell us that we needed to share a cart with another person we didn’t know that booked the same tee time on golf now as us. We have no problem golfing with other but to have to share a cart is something I’ve never seen forced at any other course. They had ample cart to give the gentleman his own cart. Their stance in this was a huge vibe kill with having to start our day with an argument to get our own carts. We had three golfers and told our single would sharing with a stranger… no thanks . Won’t be back. Too many courses around to have to deal with strange rules like that. We told them we would get a refund on take out golf elsewhere so they gave us our own carts in the end but it was just annoying to have to deal with problems before getting out for the day.
If you don’t mind being treated like a second class citizen, then by all means book this course through GolfNow.
If you want to be treated like a second class golfer for booking through GolfNow, this is your course. I’ve paid full rack price at this course on many occasions and never treated as poorly as I have been when purchasing through GolfNow. It’s just terrible! I let the pro shop know that I would no longer be a patron of their establishment.
