Green Valley Ranch Golf Club
About
Along with a nine-hole, par-3 course, Green Valley Ranch Golf Club also offers an 18-hole championship length course. Designed by Perry Dye, the course is 7,241 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course is a short distance south of the Denver International Airport and downtown Denver is easily accessible. The course is challenging and also scenic; it is not a rare occurrence to see wildlife such as deer on the course. Dye successfully incorporated the natural landscape of the area. The natural creeks and wetlands as well as the beautiful cottonwood trees were kept in tact. The course has received several honors from widely read golf magazines such as Golf Digest and Golf Week.

Enjoying the course... Photo submitted by Williamsed on 11/10/2012
GVR is what every public course should be!
GVR offers a total golf experience for the serious golf amateur. It is the closest thing to a private golf club that can be found among the public courses in Colorado.
Nice Rate on a very nice winter course
Considering the time of year, GVR played great. Greens bumpy but fair Tee'd off at 0920 and the greens were hard but once the sun came out the course played great. Payed $29.00 for Green Fees, cart with GPS.
Fairly difficult for average golfer, but playable. Lots of sand and nasty rough.
For late fall play, with Golfnow discount, was well worth playing. You can't beat the mid-60's weather of Colorado. Greens were a little rough due to earlier aeration. Definitely pays to keep it in the fairway as it is not very forgiving.
Good track, poor greens, slow play, tees too far forward
I have played the course several times before, and I like the layout. However, I was disappointed that the blue tees were so far forward this time while most of the blacks were at the tips. And, despite the forward tees, the pace of play was way too slow.
The greens were in relatively poor shape, but a lot of courses struggle in the fall. Still, given the reduced fall price, it was well worth the money. Too many other courses try to collect full price even when course conditions are marginal.
The greens not in as good condition as the courses in the area
The course will test your skills but the greens at this time are not good.
Greens are tough, great course.
Got the tee time on golf now, a great value, great course, certainly difficult. Plan to loose some balls. Follow their recommendations for your handicap.
Always backed up
Either it is a poor course design or the course is really that difficult. Hole #4, there were seven (7), let me reiterate seven, let me stress, 7 foursomes in between us and the green on hole #6. This is where they should put the club house because we had time to order sit down lunch and read the morning paper. We called to see if they could send out a ranger to speed up the pace of play and they say "we don't have a ranger." What?? Never again!! I would rather go spend time at the dmv before I "sit around " this course again!! This was not an isolated incident. It happened last time we played the course as well. Hit em straight fellas but stay away from this course!!
The greens are really challanging and the course is beautiful. The golf carts are very nice and have GPS.
I enjoyed this course and would play it again, Layed out well
challanging and fun course, greens recently aerated
This time of year in Colorado most courses have aerated greens, which makes them inconsistent and hard to have a pure roll, such is the case at GVR. Due to the recent snow the sand traps were very damp.
The course is very challenging and fun. It is one of the best courses in the Denver area for the money.
Our over all our experience at Green Valley Ranch was a day well spent.
If you are looking for a challenging and a well maintained golf course this is it. My wife and I played here and have played here before will continue to come back.
Good Course
Green Valley Ranch is a great course set in east Denver. It has a great course design. There are holes that run the whole gambit, from drivable par 4's to extremely difficult par 5's. The course was in very good shape also. If you can play here for $50 and under, you're getting a deal. Otherwise, it's very comparable to other courses that will charge you $60 and up.
Worth my extra drive to play.
Course has nice variety of short/long, tight/open and a lot of rough/water hazards. Decent shape considering late season round. Very nice course for the money.
Fall Season is a fun round
Always a tough test, GVR gives you a little break in the fall. The fescue is still pretty high, and all the par threes will get your attention, but the added run from the fairways makes it more playable. Was surprised the greens hadn't quite healed from aeration yet - supposedly done three weeks ago. In any case, bring your "A" game, and this is one of Denver's best tracks.
Good Times
Great Value!! Couirse was in great shape, challenging, and loads of fun. Cousins and myself had a great time. Look forward to playing this course again, very soon.
This course was great, had fun.
This course was in great shape and the staff was friendly. After paying for a round it is nice to have some practice balls at no additional cost. Thanks. Will go back soon. I have been looking to join a club and this may be it.
Good conditions anytime of year
GRV is a great course. It's pricey if you walk on but a great value if you can find a discounted rate. The course is well maintained throughout the year. The staff is welcoming and and the driving range is large with free balls to hit. The course layout is challenging. It's not that long but staying in the fairway is a must. My only complaint is that on 4 holes, tree's on or near the fairway come into play, and you are penalized even on well struck fairway shots.
Great course for the money
This course has great set up, and beautiful views.
course was in rough shape
Recently areated, but no arefication notification by golfnow, 3 holes had the dirt on the fairways so no carts allowed and all the greens were just bumpy and poor.
The Best Deal in Town!
Consistently, Green Valley Ranch is the best deal around Denver...it has the best bang for the buck of any course in the metro area since range balls and a cart is included in the price. And the entire staff is just great! Keep up the great work!
Good, challenging course.
The course needed a little work, but overall it's a very good course at a reasonable price.
The pace of play is ALWAYS slow for some reason. Mid week play shouldn't take close to 5 hrs.!
