About
Blue Mash Golf Course is the Rockville area's premier public offering. This Arthur Hills design combines links-style, parkland, wooded, and water holes. With such an interesting variety, the course is enjoyable for golfers of all different tastes and skill levels. With no forced carries, it's even a manageable course for beginners and high handicappers, while more seasoned golfers will be challenged by the length from the back tees, the well protected elevated greens, and the plentiful strategically placed bunkers. Water also comes into play on a few holes. The diverse mix of holes makes Blue Mash G.C. a true shotmaker's layout. In addition to the golf course, Blue Marsh is known for having one of the best practice facilities in all of Maryland. It features a 10,000-square-foot putting green, an all-grass-tee driving range, and a separate area for practicing your short game.

Bunkers Beware
While the course is usually in pretty good condition, this day was not one. I can appreciate the care and anticipation of the forecasted rain helping the maintain the course, so the super decided to blast each green with sand. Some were unputtable and none ran consistent. Again, all understandable, but at no point was this "spur of the moment" sanding ever listed or announced, even when checking in for the round. Had I not called after hole 1, I'm all but certain, nothing would have been said, only to be offered a $10 discount for my next round. No one else in my group were offered this $10 discount or knew about the sandy greens, but all complained about it.
Personally, I don't believe it was spur of the moment, because one, sand had to be available, two; the rain was in the forecast and three; maintenance is scheduled (not spur of the moment) for the most part.

Country club course quality on a public course. Fairways in great shape. Greens tough today due to pin placement.
btw they now charge for range balls. They were gratis since they opened until just a few weeks ago. They have grass practice range which is great.

the facilities are great but lots of people just there to use driving range, chipping, and putting surface. Be prepared and dont think it is over crowded.

Great Labor Day Coursw
The course has been getting a lot of play based on the tee boxes. The greens were good. Even had a beverage cart on the course. Enjoyed the course and will come back but I think I will walk to great the full feel of the course.
