About
Blackstone Golf Club is one of the hidden gems of Chicagoland golf courses. It has one of the most natural landscapes of any course in the area thanks to the incorporation of more than 26 acres of environmentally protected wetlands. Half of the course is routed through dense forests of oak and hickory trees while the other half stretches across lush, open meadows. The wetlands come into play on 13 holes. Bob Lohmann, the golf course’s designer, crafted dramatic bunkers with irregular edges and strategically placed more than 50 of them along the greensides and fairways. It’s not a golf course where you can “grip it and rip it,” instead it will force you to think carefully before each hole. The layout can be a challenging test but four sets of tees and wide, player-friendly fairways make Blackstone G.C. more accessible for a wide range of skill levels.

Great Hidden Gem
Blackstone is a great hidden gem in Marengo, IL. It was recommended last week and what a great course!
Conditions were outstanding, pace of play fantastic and greens were fast and in great shape. Worth the drive out to Marengo.
Must Play
Have been playing here since it opened in 2006
Live 35 miles away but make sure I play here at least 6-10 times a year
Have played here in April through November and conditions are always great
Tee time 8:40 - threesome , played in 3::15
The other 2 players I played with were visiting from philly area and were impressed with conditions and layout

Great Round
The course is great shape: greens, fairways, rough. The sand traps were hard and needed a lot of work. It looked like they were maintained with a tank.

Impeccable
This course is hands down one of the nicest course(if not the nicest) in the northwest suburb area. The greens are challenging and fast as well as the challenge getting to the green. The course is laid out very well and provides a challenge for any skill level. This course is very upscale yet has a feeing of friendliness and joy. If I had any complaints it would have to be the signage directing you to the first tee. That’s hardly a complaint though because I had no problem finding it, but I’m sure other people may have trouble. This is a MUST play course if you’re anywhere close enough for the drive.

Diamond in the rough
Out in the middle of nowhere is this beautiful challenging course. Rolling fairways and greens and plenty of strategically placed sand traps. Fun course!

Course was in good shape and well maintained.
Given current state in Illinois with COVIID, staff didn't care about social distancing or following state guidelines.
Carts were shared; thankfully I walked, but was surprised when asked for a second cart, I was told "we are pairing carts up"
Overall, course is good,; but lack of responsibility for health of customers will make me think twice before coming back.

Blackstone - play at your own risk
I have played this course numerous time in the past, today was the first time during Phase 3 of COVID-19 restrictions. The course, setup and maintenance of the course is great. It has a nice routing and fine challenging holes.
You may ask: why a 1 star? Given the guidelines for COVID-19 social distancing and cleanliness, the course failed. When asked for a second cart for the two of us to play, we were told "No, we're pairing people up". Also, no one working at the course wore a facemask. you may say i'm being overly cautious, but we have guidelines for a reason.
If you like a nice course, it's good. If you want to take a chance on your health, feel free. I'm choosing not to play there in the future.

Exceptional Course
It doesn’t get much better than Blackstone. The course conditions are exceptional and the layout is fun and challenging for any player. The greens are by far the best around and roll true. They are very quick so you must stay below the hole to avoid 3 putts. I always encourage friends to make the drive to play Blackstone and it never disappoints. Already looking forward to playing it next time.

Great Greens
The course was in great shape and is a varied and interesting track. The greens were outstanding! Pretty fast and very true.

Great track but having to take 5 Hours and 5 minutes to play a round absolutely wrecked the game !!!
