About
Blackstone Golf Club is one of the hidden gems of Chicagoland golf courses. It has one of the most natural landscapes of any course in the area thanks to the incorporation of more than 26 acres of environmentally protected wetlands. Half of the course is routed through dense forests of oak and hickory trees while the other half stretches across lush, open meadows. The wetlands come into play on 13 holes. Bob Lohmann, the golf course’s designer, crafted dramatic bunkers with irregular edges and strategically placed more than 50 of them along the greensides and fairways. It’s not a golf course where you can “grip it and rip it,” instead it will force you to think carefully before each hole. The layout can be a challenging test but four sets of tees and wide, player-friendly fairways make Blackstone G.C. more accessible for a wide range of skill levels.

I haven't played Blackstone this year. I'm waiting for my doctor's note so I may be able to ride at Blackstone.I'm 78 and have two bad knees and it's just too tough of a course to walk. I hope to be there shortly

Fun layout , greens are as good as any you will play

No call or notification of frost warning
Showed up to the course and had to wait 2.5 hours because of a frost delay. I drove up from Chicago, which is an hour away, and received no heads up or warning about the frost delay. When I asked why no call, the guy behind the counter first claimed he didn’t have my phone number but then looked again and was missing the last digit—meaning one of 9 possible combinations could’ve been my number, especially since my number ends in 0 and probably would’ve been the first number to guess. Later found out they also have my email address since I signed in and booked on the website as well.
GREAT course, bad management—especiall guy behind the desk is lazy and ‘out to lunch’.. Almost cost me my round which is extremely hard to come by on a Saturday afternoon during quarantine. Don’t risk booking this course only to find out you have to wait 2 hours to play

Easily One of the Best Courses in Illinois
I played Blackstone after being locked up in quarantine. I looked on this app to find the nicest course I could find because I was prepared to pay any price and needed the best I could play. Blackstone lived up to my dreams throughout the lockdown. The greens were in great condition and the course gave me a great challenge for my first round in a long time. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I definitely will be back and will be adding this to my summer weekly plans. If they had 6 stars in this app I would rate it 7.

The course is closed due to the stay at home order and has been. Maybe you should have saved your fake review until after May 1 when the course is open again.
What a beautiful course!
Even though it was not a season, the course was perfectly managed. Green was spotless. We would definitely go back when the spring comes.

Price Gouging
When I played this course 6/1/2019 at 9am I paid $83 with a cart. Now they are charging $79 to walk on the weekend when they are allowed to reopen 5/1/2020. The pricing is ridiculous given the circumstances regarding courses reopening in Illinois. Pretty shameful on the ownership and managements part.
Not only are they gouging, but I went there yesterday to find out I had a 2.5 hour frost delay. That’s fine but I drove up from Chicago and received NO call or email about it. I asked the guy if he had my phone number, in which he retracted his statement that he didn’t after he looked it up on their computers. Claims he was missing the last number, which gives him 9 options. My number just so happens to end in 0 which is probably the first guess. Course is great but that’s pure laziness and poor customer service. Also they clearly had my email since I booked online through their site. TOO RISKY to think about booking again during quarantine.
IIt was a cold windy day. 38 degrees at tee time. All things considered, still a great course to play.

Always a winner
I am retired and play M,Tu, and Th during the season. I have played many courses in Chicago area both more and less Expensive than Blackstone. This is by far the best value and has a great layout and fast greens.
Have played Scotland, Ireland, Pinehurst and find Blackstone with less tradition on a par with many of these great courses.
Only problem is we don't have enough members to make it private....but still a great course....

Great place
Had heard rave reviews of black stone and I was not disappointed. Very playable for all golfers. Excellent conditions with challenging but fair layout.

Blackstone a great course to play
Blackstone is one of the top golf courses to play in Northern Illinois. It’s a wonderful layout with challenging holes and undulating well kept greens and bunkers. You’ll walk away thinking it’s worth the trek to Marengo to satisfy your golf craving for a solid premium level course.

Very Slow play
this is a great course but today it took over 5 hours to play 18. I have never had a 5 hour round. we waited on every hole. its hard to get any positive tempo when you have to wait on almost every shot. needless to say the ranger did not do his job. The greens had just been aerated so the greens were so so and it looked as if someone was wearing metal spikes.
