Fun course to play but greens extremely slow and some in very bad shape .
Has gone downhill fast
Im not sure of any course sale status or management change (bartender said it was sold) but Ive played forest preserve courses in better shape. The best was a greenside bunker beyond repair, the solution? Mark it as a red staked hazard. Im also pretty sure they are using the cheapest seed available for divots. No other way to explain tufts of "rough" all over the fairways. Used to be a gem, I will need photos before I ever go back.

Decent Course
Decent course, friendly staff. I hadn't played here in a few years and it appears the condition of the course has gone downhill, some bunkers are under repair, the rest aren't well kept. The greens were fine and there are a few very interesting holes especially the 2 par 5's on the back 9
Good course, terrible Par 5's
Overall course was in good shape and greens are a little slow but roll true. Par 3 & 4 are nice mix and challenge. On the other hand, Par 5 here are the worst I've seen anywhere. Only one allows you to hit driver from the tee. The rest are iron only and then become a back and forth weave across streams and over towering fields of weeds. I'd love to go back here but probably won't because of these holes. Took an otherwise good course and made it dreadful.

Great Course good value
Whisper Creek is very well maintained with a good course layout. Good variety of holes. I would definitely recommend playing here
Such Potential
Whisper Creek has an amazing potential. Its layout is challenging and serene. They need to figure out the greens keeping situation. Sand traps are awful and unkept. Either fill them in or maintain the sand levels. Tee boxes are overgrown and not level. It’s like there is no pride in the work they do. If Whisper Creek just charged $10-15 maybe even $20 more a round could they afford to have better maintenance and be one of the great courses in the area again. Bowes, Highlands and Blackstone are much better options in this area. Even Marengo Ridge is starting to catch up to Whisper Creek in quality.

Really nice layout. Friendly staff it’s worth playing.
