Quarry Pines Golf Club

This course layout is my favorite- of all the courses in southern AZ, it is truly unique, and yes you do need a cart, the cart paths are like roller-coasters, and there’s not much shade. But there are spectacular views of an old rock quarry with mountains in the background. And all the grass was in great shape- well some of the greens had some larger rough patches- but …. Overall, for the price it was an equitable transaction. Thumbs up overall definitely. And the outdoor staff were awesome dudes, great service! cleaned my clubs and had good jokes, I felt like I was a regular at Torrey Pines, they treated me so well.

But there was no driving range, which is pretty Lame— this messed up my drives on the first nine holes, so I shot Above Par on the Front Nine, which is Really unusual for me. The lack of a driving Range should always be considered before coming here, it’ll mess up your game if you’re not prepared for that. Also, my girlfriend said the carts were kind of slow for her taste. She’s used to a little more muscle in the engine. Anyways, I recommend this place, it feels like an epic journey every round, and hole #16 was designed by Jeffery Dahmer. -It tends to eat a lot of balls. This course got some long holes and some beautiful par 3’s as well. I particularly enjoy the islands greens surrounded by 40 foot cliffs, -i usually hit the greens on my tee-shots about 90% of the time, but I’ve seen a lot of people (people other than me) lose Lots of balls on the back nine… so beware

Bring extra balls, unless you’re a scratch-golfer like me.

P.S. If you don’t Tee off from the Blacks on hole #1, then I think you would probably be better off Teeing up at the Reds- because your Drive is Weak!

We had a great time with our friends golfing there. Only down fall was no beverage cart. Pace was good. Target course for sure.

Was surprised with the nice fairway conditions and overall course pace of play. Will definitely be back!

Had a great time playing with long time friends. The course is in excellent playing condition. Very good challenge for our skill levels. Definitely recommend this course for the playability and value

I love how challenging this course is. You really need to utilize course management on the back 9 for sure.

When I can get a Golf Now TeeTime deal this is one of my very favorite Tucson area golf courses. It is always well maintained and the elevation changes are staggering. I’ve never played the course from the tips, the Black Tees are plenty hard enough and challenging for my game as it is. As a group, the Par 3 holes are as tough and demanding as most recreational golfers would want. But it’s the sheer rugged beauty of the course being cut from an old rock quarry that makes it so special to me. Bring your camera the first time you play it. And extra balls. LOL

We play this course quite often. Best condition it’s been in recent memory.

Course was in shape but did a lot of waiting and for how hot is was in the middle of the day, the prices were too steep!

Course was in excellent condition all around. Really enjoyed the layout, challenging but fair. A short straight hitter can score well here from the black tees. Friendly staff especially the guy working the cart staging area early AM who was very helpful.
