Old Corkscrew Golf Club

I’ve played here before and loved it. This time the bugs were horrible, gun shots were being fired, and the pace of play was very slow. Beautiful place to play but bring buy spray.

Absolute joke of a course and Mgmt.

Group booked a trip - Tee Times, Flights, Hotels, Rental Cars, some rental clubs - 2 months out.

Literally 2 days before out flight, we get a call that the club is cancelling our tee time because Mgmt told them in a 6 day notice, they were going private.

Typical, shady, Mgmt company- so much so, the Nicklaus name is getting dropped from this course so some new "design" can be done. LOL - changing a legendary designers course - all you need to know.

Played Old Corkscrew and had a blast. The layout is absolutely beautiful and it’s a really fun course, but it definitely has some teeth. The greens are small, and everything seemed to be rolling out, so you have to be pretty precise with your shots. The bugs were also pretty rough, so bring spray if you’re playing out there. Overall, we had a great time and I’d definitely play it again for the scenery and challenge.

Very sad that this very good Nicklaus course is closing and being redone and turned private. This is a huge public course loss in this area where there is a lack of quality public courses.

Great course. It is to bad that they are closing until Ende of 2027 and then going private. What a shame.

Beautiful golf course!! The value for what you pay for is off the chart!! The course, was an excellent condition. We will definitely be back!!

We had a great day at Old Corkscrew Golf Club. The fairways were in excellent condition, the greens were fast and true, and the layout was both challenging and exciting with plenty of bunkers and water hazards. One of the few golf courses in Southwest Florida without houses lining the fairways, which makes the round feel much more natural and peaceful. Overall, a beautiful day of golf on a very enjoyable course.

Absolutely beautiful course! From the layout to the amenities. The course is unforgiving but enjoyable! If you can’t handle a course giving you tough love then this isn’t it. Greens were in great shape with good speed and smoothness. The course punished me but the layout was worth it! Would recommend and would play again.

I have played here before, but forgot how frustrating it can be. While the layout is pretty cool since each hole is so different, the greens are absolutely ridiculous. Not in great condition by any means and balls roll off way too easily. Pin placements are stupidly hard. Fairways regularly slope to water so you end up losing many balls. I typically shoot around 90 and even though I wasn't having a good day, I stopped keeping score as I likely would've shot well over 100. If you like to be challenged and frustrated, feel free to play here.

An amazing layout and very fast greens highlight a water and sand trap filled adventure. Range balls are included in your freens fee. I love this place!

The ground and the greens are so hard that unless you are a pro you can’t stop the ball. Your ball rolls until it runs off the course. Now it’s lost. The place is beautiful but unfair for the non- pro. Golfers review Corkscrew as a hard/difficult golf course. The only thing hard is the ground. Wasn’t fun. Too bad. Golf is supposed to be fun.
