Old Corkscrew Golf Club

Except for the rain on the front nine couldn’t have been better. Played white due to weather conditions but was still a challenge from tee to green. Can’t wait to play in dry conditions.

I have played here before, but forgot how frustrating it can be. While the layout is pretty cool since each hole is so different, the greens are absolutely ridiculous. Not in great condition by any means and balls roll off way too easily. Pin placements are stupidly hard. Fairways regularly slope to water so you end up losing many balls. I typically shoot around 90 and even though I wasn't having a good day, I stopped keeping score as I likely would've shot well over 100. If you like to be challenged and frustrated, feel free to play here.

An amazing layout and very fast greens highlight a water and sand trap filled adventure. Range balls are included in your freens fee. I love this place!

The ground and the greens are so hard that unless you are a pro you can’t stop the ball. Your ball rolls until it runs off the course. Now it’s lost. The place is beautiful but unfair for the non- pro. Golfers review Corkscrew as a hard/difficult golf course. The only thing hard is the ground. Wasn’t fun. Too bad. Golf is supposed to be fun.

The greens have finally improved to the point where this course is enjoyable, despite having the worse bunkers known to man. Every round here is a conversation of “if only they would”. Glad to be playing here again, while it lasts.

This is a favorite that had fallen on hard times since acquired by Hoffman. A great design that would rival any private club in Florida with just a little investment, To tear up this course and replace it with whatever Kyle Phillips (his latest at Apogee is a snooze) is criminal. Attention Hoffman! All you need to do is replace the tee boxes, bunkers and greens AND increase your maintenance budget and you will have restored a gem and still go private if necessary. I’ll be the first to join.

Loved the course---greens seemed to be extremely slow compared to many of the Florida courses I play. Other than that I will be sad that I will most likely only play this course once prior to it being remodeled.

One of best in Fort Myers/Naples area . Scenic well designed tour quality Jack Nicklaus course-definitely not for beginners.

In years past, Old Corkscrew was a gem. Excellent condition, tough layout, seasoned employees -a country club like experience. While still a challenging layout, the course conditions are “choppy” - the front nine greens have bare spots, uneven grass, etc and fairways have various conditions. In contrast, the back nine greens were smooth and the fairways carpet like.

Green are in really bad shape. Cost should come down due to conditions.

This course used to be one of the better public access courses in the area. Unfortunately, the Hoffman family will be razing the entire course and grounds to build an exclusive club catering to the ultra wealthy and eliminating another public course in the area. They may as well start the project now. The greens and traps are in terrible condition, not what one would expect at a Nicklaus course and the cost to play it. The bright spot is the welcoming staff who I hope will retain their jobs as the facility transforms.

Greens are better than 2025, but tees are mostly green dirt…ugh!

greens were good but the fairways were very light on grass, not worth the cost and was a 5 hour round
