Lake Presidential Golf Club

I hope this place changes it's outlook on serving customers because it could be a great option. Unfortunately, it seems the staff is only interested in collecting their greens fee and kicking you out the door.

Background, I had a 6:45 tee time on a Friday morning. My playing partner and I moved through the first 9 in about an hour and 35 min. As we were on hole 11, we noticed about 20 carts go by. Once we hit the tee box on 12, it was apparent that the course had an event scheduled. Oddly enough, it appears that the course set up a shotgun start, beginning on hole 12 (no idea why...), which was certainly not mentioned to us upon paying. Standing on the tee box, we waited about 15 minutes before deciding neither of us would make it to work if we waited on the scramble event the entire rest of the way.

Given the amount of waiting time we had apparently signed up for, myself, the individual I was paired with, and the single behind us, all went to the clubhouse for a rain check. The gentleman working the clubhouse said their policy for leaving early was a $25 refund. No mention of the event, no acknowledgment that they shouldn't have offered tee times before the event. Just a completely unreasonable response to a problem they themselves created. Can I afford an over-priced 9-hole rate? Annoying, but yes of course. The principle this place apparently operates on is shameful. I hate to take an "eye for an eye" outlook, but these are the type of places that *should* see a loss of customers. So many courses out there do it the right way, not this one.

This journey starts with some heavy rain the morning of our tee time. Due to the traffic I called Adam at the Pro Shop to tell him we were running a little behind. No problem since the rain chased away most of other golfers. The course was wet so cart path only which made for a lot of walking up and down some big hills. I felt bad for some of the older golfers having to deal with the wet terrain. The course is pretty challenging due to the

narrowness of the fairways. I haven't lost that many balls in a while. I blame swinging harder due to no rolling on the fairway. I can't wait to play it on a dry day. Hole 18 is amazing. One dig on the Golfers that play there please fix your divots on the greens and fairways. Replace the beaver pelts or use the sand on the cart. Also pick up your trash!

no marshall, slow play (3hr for front 9...). Not worth more than $40. MIght have been 3 total people working there.

The course superintendent was irate using inappropriate language, even though we were not informed that it was "cart path only". The superintendent stated very aggressively that "if you can't do cart path only, go and get your f#cking money back". There are more effective ways of approaching any and all situations without it getting out of hand and that way way was an almost certain way of sparking a fire had we not been decent adults who attempted to discuss the matter rather than argue with a hot head such as this superintendent was.

This is a beautiful golf course, however, it is grossly understaffed which results in the absence of a course Marshall (pace-of play)or on-the-course cart services (cold beverages), let alone no one staffing the food or bar area (no after-game eating/drinking).

Course is in great condition, but the old men playing on Tuesday have no regard for pace of play and are not friendly to letting people play through.

The weather has been good, no rain for 3days. The soil was hard. I don’t get the policy: cart path only!!! They could limit the access to some parts of courses for protecting, but why the heck entire course was cart path only!!!!! One old lady in our team almost fainted and gave up playing the back 6 holes. It was too hot to walk up and down the hills in each hole. I won’t go back to the course until summer ends.

Fairways and rough were in good condition. No need for cart path only rule considering they were hard as a rock. The bunkers had more water in them than the Chesapeake Bay and didn’t look like they were raked and groomed in months. The greens looked like London after the blitzkrieg with the amount of unfixed ball marks, poor hole replacements and patchy repair work. Maintenance staff purchasing beers in the pro shop before the round was a nice touch but gave insight to why some of the cut holes had flat edges. The beverage cart attendant was the only redeeming staff member I dealt with. Her attention to detail and willingness to make sure the customer had s great experience was worth the higher beer prices than other courses.

First time playing the course, and I really enjoyed it. I'm a scratch golfer, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have at least a 200 yard carry. It is very much a 2nd shot golf course with a lot of intersecting creeks that you can't carry. Fairways are in great shape. Greens were running a little slow, but it had rained a lot and they obviously hadn't been able to mow them. The layout is really solid though. great use of the lake. You'll see a lot of water, but it doesn't really come into play that much. I definitely want to come back and play when it is a little more dry.
