Lake Presidential Golf Club
About
Lake Presidential Golf Club is one of Maryland's most popular public courses. It is a challenging championship layout that is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. It stands out from run-of-the-mill municipal courses with exceptional conditions from the tees to the greens. The layout offers a diverse mix of holes that will have golfers using every club in their bag. There are some especially interesting par 3s that are visible but with enough hazards to make them a challenge. Houses border the front nine holes but they are absent on the back nine. The fairways on the last nine holes are densely lined with mature trees. The golf course finishes with an enjoyable par 5 that plays over a lake. It can be reached in two with a little skill and accuracy.

Excellent public course
One of the best values in the DMV. Very challenging course and usually in very good condition. Not for beginners imo. Love the gps video screen in the carts.
Grand Central Station
Several tee boxes throughout the round had 4 carts waiting to tee off. Hole 13 had 6!!!!
Pace of Play is TERRIBLE
Played on a Sunday afternoon and the pace of play was unbelievably slow. In fact, it was the longest round of my life. My tee time was at 12:50 and we didn’t actually tee off until 1:25 since there were 3 groups sitting on the tee box at hole 1 waiting to tee off. The group in front of us had a guy who clearly didn’t care about pace of play. He teed it up 3 times (one after another) on hole two and managed to hit all 3 directly OB which was about 10 feet in front of him as my group is waiting behind them.
The course was in pretty good shape for March but I will not play here ever again on a weekend.
Superb course
This was my second time playing the course, I had the course to myself. The course layout is superb, well kept, beautiful scenery.
I will definitely play this course again.
Tough Row to Hoe
The pro shop and amenities were spot on. The starter was very organized.
The course is extremely hilly and unfortunately the fairways were water logged. That of course required golf carts to stay on the paths. Even when you were allowed to ride on the fairway, the electronic cart gps required you to hit a 225+yard drive before you could enter the fairway. So seniors, and other with challenges had to often take 1/2 dozen clubs, dismount and walk backwards to their ball. This also slowed down play to a 5 hour round as you could imagine.
Hopefully, they will get the drainage fixed or charge less for the cart that you can use.
I wouldn't recommend walking in any case.
Decent Course
Played using a significantly discounted TeeOff price ($30). Not a lot of people on the course because there was light rain on and off and it was a bit windy. Nevertheless7, the course was in decent shape. However, the greens were slower that typicall. They needed to be cut and rolled. But I still enjoyed the outing, and especially for the price. Note: Green fees are typically about $40 -$50 more.
Nice course but the pace is unbearable
This course would be very nice, however the pace of play issues make playing here unbearable. I am not exaggerating when I say the pace of this course is the worst I have ever experienced at any place I have ever played. 30+ minutes behind on our tee time and got through 11 holes in 5 hours. No rain checks or refunds. No apologies.
3 hour front 9
Chanced a hot deal out here even though other reviews warned of slow play. I should’ve listened bc the pace was almost unbearable and we didn’t finish all 18 before darkness. They didn’t even have enough carts for golfers! And tee times were 20 mins behind with nobody patrolling anything. Don’t waste your time and money here. Too bad bc the layout was great (greens were true but slow).
slow pace of play
Dont know if its the Marshall sending group to close together but had to wait 10 min every hole as there were sometimes 3 groups waiting on the same tee box.
Nice layout with average course conditions
Lake Presidential has a very nice layout. Plenty of holes near the lake which is serene. The course is on the tougher side. The greens were not good. It appears the players do not fix their ball marks.
Pace of Play
This course every time I play is over booked. Tee time was at 11, wasn’t able to tee off until 11:45. It took us 3 hours to get through 9 holes! I paid for 18, couldn’t stand it after 9 and left. This happens every time. Stop overbooking
Over Book
The pace of the course was very slow. It took us 9 holes for almost 3 1/2 hrs. We didn’t finish our round.
