About
Lake Presidential Golf Club is one of Maryland's most popular public courses. It is a challenging championship layout that is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. It stands out from run-of-the-mill municipal courses with exceptional conditions from the tees to the greens. The layout offers a diverse mix of holes that will have golfers using every club in their bag. There are some especially interesting par 3s that are visible but with enough hazards to make them a challenge. Houses border the front nine holes but they are absent on the back nine. The fairways on the last nine holes are densely lined with mature trees. The golf course finishes with an enjoyable par 5 that plays over a lake. It can be reached in two with a little skill and accuracy.

Great course, but slow
Everything was good except for the pace of play. It took 2:40min to finish the first 9 hole. Sometimes 2 different teams were waiting to tee off. However, i will definitely return and play it again.
This is where you want to play golf!
Staff was very helpful and attentive, course layout and surroundings were very nice and scenic. Elevations were exciting to play but not overwhelming. Carts were powerful and very maneuverable. Course was in great condition and greens too, for this time of year. Golf offers prices were fair and reasonable. Deals for old FNG's like me (8 weeks old playing 57 years on this planet) are plentiful. Go here soon and enjoy the game!
Great challenging course
Lake Presidential is a nice course. The staff is always excellent! It is a challenging course with fast greens and many challenges. There are scenic views. It's a must play.
Course conditions so so
Played LP Monday 11/8. Perfect weather day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Driving range was stellar. Pace of play was excellent. Biggest complaint is that at least half of the holes are roped off so that no carts can enter. One might as well walk the course. Not golfer friendly in my opinion.
early tee time
Had a 815 tee time did not get on the course till 930..not courses fault just made it a long day
THE worst course in the entire DMV!!!!
The Marshall is clueless. Be ready for a 20 minute speech on the rules of the game only to not have a single one enforced. He forced me and my playing partner (5 handicap) to tee off from the whites to “ensure fast pace of play”. By hole 3….we were backed up 3 groups to a hole.
The one time we saw him out on the course, we let him know we have been waiting 10-15 minutes on the tee box every hole. He proceeded to assure us we were on time even though our round ended 6 hours total!
Kicker was the group that stomped in our ball on the fringe on 18 and then proceeded to try fighting us after the hole.
Greens and fairways were in terrible shape.
GO PLAY ANYWHERE ELSE! Save your money. This place STINKS!
(105$ for a round: I would have rather played East Potomac)
Pace
Haven’t played this course in a few years. Overall condition was just horrible for the $85 they get from you. Peppered greens and chewed up fairways. Dirt bunkers. They really have a lot of nerve charging that price but that’s Maryland for you. Best part of the day was the 5:45 it took to play. I’ll never be back.
