About
Lake Presidential Golf Club is one of Maryland's most popular public courses. It is a challenging championship layout that is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. It stands out from run-of-the-mill municipal courses with exceptional conditions from the tees to the greens. The layout offers a diverse mix of holes that will have golfers using every club in their bag. There are some especially interesting par 3s that are visible but with enough hazards to make them a challenge. Houses border the front nine holes but they are absent on the back nine. The fairways on the last nine holes are densely lined with mature trees. The golf course finishes with an enjoyable par 5 that plays over a lake. It can be reached in two with a little skill and accuracy.

Golfer Reviews
Fun Couse***
The course was in great condition, but the pace of play was very slow for a weekday round. Would gladly recommend this course to play, no matter what tee you play there are plenty of challenges.
Way over priced
First time playing here this year this course is way over priced unless you can grab a golf deal. Lucky that’s what I got it was $25 on Golfnow. They need to offer a handicap flag, I’m handicapped and there are a ton of hills and all of the extremely hilly holes you can’t drive on the major one is hole 18 it’s a par 5 cart path is at the top of the hill and you have to walk down to the ball and back up to the cart. I don’t understand why the bar isn’t open and the kitchen is closed? If you want to make money open up so people can eat and drink. Probably won’t be back for a long time due to the hilly situation it just to difficult for me to do those hills and it makes playing golf not fun for me! If they start allowing people with handicap to ride one the hard holes.
Same old Pres
Played here over a dozen times over the years and this course has always struggled with pace of play, rude staff, and being overpriced. Course layout is nice and fairways in decent shape but the greens leave much to be desired.
$92 for a weekday morning round, with the added bonus of A very rude cart guy that has to be visibly calmed down by a pro shop member because he can’t control his emotions when dealing with customers.
Pace of play was behind all day starting on hole 1. The marshals have been for show throughout the many times I’ve played here because I’ve had poor experiences almost every time I’ve played here.
Spending more than I would for a guest round at Woodmore, a private course, with no food/bev service, a 5 hour round, and rude staff is a combination for a poor experience.
I thought that after giving them a year off when they allegedly made “improvements” would be better, but alas it’s the same old lake pres.
So much potential but clearly mismanaged.
Oak creek is down the road with a much better course, staff, and price.
Too slow
While the course has a nice layout it is among the slowest I have played in ten years. At many points during the round there were three foursomes on the same hole. No course Marshalls around and a couple of groups quit after 13/14 holes (after being on the course for 4 hours already)
Great course. Great value!
If you can grab a $25 hot deal, there's no better value in the area. The course is in great shape. Keep it up Lake Pres!
Great round
We were able to get this course at an incredible hot deal for $30. At that price the course is amazing value. It was in above average shape and pace of play was good. Some of the holes are a little bit unfair ad it is a very tough golf course but overall it is definitely somewhere I would return to and play again. AT regular price the course may be a little overpriced, however it is a great spot and a very pretty golf course. Ultimately a good experience and a great day on the links.
A beautiful course that can test the best
Loved the course! It’s tough at time and fairly simple at times. I think this course could be near perfect with better yardage markings.
My favorite PG County public course.
I love this track. Challenging but fair. You need to be able to hit it pretty good off the tee. Greens rolled true and have good pace. The greens were a little too firm, hard to hold unless you hit a full shot out of the fairway. Grass hitting area at the range a huge plus. One of my favorite courses.
Good conditions. Poor pace of play!
There is no reason a group of 4 should be playing from the tips if it takes them 4 shots just to get to the greens. As a threesome, with a twosome following, we were waiting on every shot on the front. I quit after 10 holes. And the twosome behind me quit after 9. I spoke with them in the parking lot. Let's get some starters out there!
Great m, but slow
The course is great for challenging play and was in great condition. The staff is top notch, but the pace of play was too slow and took away from the joy the course had to offer.
