Lake Presidential Golf Club

About
Lake Presidential Golf Club is one of Maryland's most popular public courses. It is a challenging championship layout that is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. It stands out from run-of-the-mill municipal courses with exceptional conditions from the tees to the greens. The layout offers a diverse mix of holes that will have golfers using every club in their bag. There are some especially interesting par 3s that are visible but with enough hazards to make them a challenge. Houses border the front nine holes but they are absent on the back nine. The fairways on the last nine holes are densely lined with mature trees. The golf course finishes with an enjoyable par 5 that plays over a lake. It can be reached in two with a little skill and accuracy.

SLOW
Had a 1:12 tee time, took just over 5 hours to play. No starter or ranger. Front desk was friendly when checking in. They must have been having some issues with their tee time system as when I got on the tee they had a 1PM, 1:03PM, 1:12PM, and pulling up behind us was the 1:15PM. The 1PM was also a twosome, so me and my buddy just paired up with them. The course itself was in good shape, greens rolled well and they had their typical wet fairways. Saw the beverage cart a couple of times, but no water or ball washers out on the course. But if you come prepared with your own beverages and mind set that it'll be slow round you'll have fun. If you're expecting a sub 4 hour round I would look elsewhere.
No Starter and no Rangers = 6 hour round
Brutal pace of play for middle of week morning tee time. won't be back.
Great pace. Worth the money
Pace of Play was fantastic. A lot of open tee-times so we played at our own pace. Course was in very good shape. Greens were quick, pins were tucked on a number of holes which was surprising. Hit it past and you were dead. More ballmarks than expected unfortunately. Course deserves better.
No two holes are the same so the variety of shots needed runs thru the bag.
A number of holes you had to remain on cart path which is always a drag. (no rain in past 4 days?)
Range was closed for repairs but appeared temporary. Clubhouse had no activity at the bar or grill when we completed our round at 3:45 which was a bummer. Still enjoyed the round and will definitely go back.
Beyond Slow -
I really like the layout of this course but unfortunately the pace of play should be zero stars. An 842am start time, walked off at 115pm on the 14tee box, still had 4 holes to play with no relief in sight and no marshal enforcing the pace of play. People are paying alot of $$$ and should have to take 6hours to play a round of golf because a few groups cant play from the proper tee box
Pace Of Play
Had a tee time at 2:33pm - Delayed till 3:10pm - only got 13 holes played.
Ei
Will be excellent once grass is cut a couple of times
Nice course
A bit difficult but overall a pleasant afternoon. No marshals so the pace was somewhat slow.. Difficult to remain concentrated, Balls washing equipment will be appreciated specially in wet conditions.
Aerated greens
Greens were aerated, played on 9/21 and no signs or any notice of this was posted. Would have not played if I had known. Other than the greens course was in good shape and staff was kind. Wish there was a notice up for aeration as this makes greens mostly unplayable
Bad Experience
Yesterday, we played Lake President and was charged full rack rate $94.00 and the greens were aerated on the front and we were told to check into the club house on the turn because they were unsure the back aeration would be completed. Because of the double booking - there were four groups on hole three and beyond. Pace of play was outrageous. How can you charge rack rate when the greens are aerated with sand all over them? This was highway robbery and the clubhouse never informed us….
